Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
RamblerReb I caught this little movie last night when there was nothing else to watch, mostly because of Jennifer Morrison. Routh did a passable Christopher Reeve impression again, though honestly I never found Reeve to be that compelling an actor, and based on the few comedies I have seen Reeve in, I would say that Routh is actually better as a light comedian. On the one hand, if you've seen Switching Channels (an ill-advised '80s remake of His Girl Friday), you'll realize that ain't saying much, but light comedy is actually one of the most difficult things to pull off, and the fact that Routh manages to be funny at all is an accomplishment. It may seem unfair to compare Routh and Reeve outside of a Superman film, but Routh took the role and he's stuck with the comparison. Not to mention Routh looks and sounds a lot like Reeve. The nutty couple are indeed nutty, and manage to be funny without being too annoying to watch, the supporting players (including the boyfriend from Roseanne) are competent, and Morrison was engaging and charming, quite believable as someone you'd chase to Oregon or wherever the hell.Where this film falls down is pacing and story. The framing story of Routh sitting in the bar relating the events thus far is poorly constructed, with the story taking so long between returns to the bar that you forget the framing device and are jarred by the transition back to the "present." Too much of the film takes place after leaving the bar. Quicker pacing would have helped the end not drag so badly and leave such gaps between jokes.Bottom line, watchable, but not re-watchable, unless your other choice is a Rosie O'Donnell movie or something similarly sickening.
Chrysanthepop I'm surprised at all the negativity 'Table For Three' received because it had me laughing almost all the way. I say almost because I thought towards the end (except the last scene) it got very clichéd. Samonek does a good job of making the story (which could have easily been a thriller) into a comedy. The jokes work excellently but there is also a lot of subtle humour some of which can be easily missed if you turn your head away for a minute. 'Table For Three' also has a polished and appealing look. The sets look great and the soundtrack is pleasant. One of the most crucial requirements for a successful comedy is to cast actors with comic flair. Brandon Routh does a fairly decent job and the breathtakingly beautiful Jennifer Morrison is absolutely charming. However, 'Table For Three' belongs to Jesse Bradford and Sophia Bush. They are awesome as this weird, intrusive and clingy couple from hell and their scenes together are the highlights of the movie. Bush should definitely quit acting in soaps and consider acting more in films. To sum it up, 'Table For Three' is a fun movie to watch on a date or with friends.
rose beall The story really gets underway when he decides to rent out the extra room to a couple who begin to interfere in his love life. Brandon Routh does an excellent job in portraying the guy too quick to jump into relationships. The couple that moves in with him decide that they will help him not to jump into a relationship too quickly. On purpose, they try to make him look bad in front of this new women in order to slow him down.I enjoyed the interaction of the characters. Each character was fully developed instead of being a part of the scenery. There are a lot of good laughs, and the comedy is realistic. The marriage ceremony has many good laughs in it too, and we see what lengths the couple will go to.
jockyouup This movie was very refreshing and entertaining! The director wrote a funny and unpredictable script. I believe who ever did casting for this film did a great job; kudos to all the actors in the film! The chemistry in the film was just right....not saucy and overdone. I really enjoyed this film because it portrays a normal character who is surrounded by freaks who put him out of his element and drive him crazy. It's a feeling that we all can relate to....this is what is the best vocal point of this movie. Moreover, I thought it was going to be another corny romantic comedy but it was quite the opposite! It put a smile to my face. Thumbs up!!
