Reviews

Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Tobias Burrows It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Ginger Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
warsystem04 I typically try to stray away from horror films (or any films for that matter) that came out after the year 2000, but out of boredom and a newfound need to watch every slasher I can get my hands on I picked this one up on the cheap in the used section. It actually exceeded my expectations by a lot."Shredder" is a throwback to the classic slasher formula of the 1980's. The kills are inventive and the gore plentiful, and the characters, particularly Cole, have plenty of one liners to go around. I've realized a lot of post-00's movies of all genres incorporate "bro humor" (see Dane Cook) as a way to reach the mind numbed masses that are watching them. In a roundabout, twisted way this actually is funnier to me than well thought out humor, if only because it tries so hard... Or maybe I'm actually just a "bro"..."Shredder" doesn't have the most convoluted of plots, but the fast pacing and entertaining characters make up for it. Although, if you too have seen way too many slasher films, it should be easy for you to pinpoint the killer pretty quickly before the final revealing. The last ten minutes or so are excellent, albeit extremely over the top.I must say though, I would have substituted more nudity, particularly of the MAIN ACTRESS for some of the gore if need be. I mean, what is a slasher flick with only one set of knockers anyway?! Not enough if you ask me...All in all, "Shredder" is a very entertaining way to spend 90 minutes, and I would recommend it to anyone into the golden age of slashers. This is a very fine throwback that never takes itself too seriously, but still delivers the death and stalker elements I so crave.
whpratt1 If you like comedy, horror, sexy gals, nudity and girls running around in their underwear, this is the film for you. There is great photography from Idaho over snow covered slopes and mountains along with a trail of blood and guts. This story starts off with a group of young people who enjoy snowboarding and some just love to just plain ski and they are invited to a friends ski lodge. However, the local town people are not very happy about their arrival in their community because there was the killing of a very young gal which caused many problems and the lodge has been closed down with hopes of opening it up real soon. This is a good Halloween film and it will hold your interest. Enjoy.
Woodyanders Okay, please stop me if you've heard this one before. Seven totally obnoxious and unlikeable beer-chugging, snowboard-surfing, sex-obsessed party hearty college coed kids decide to spend a weekend of fun and frolics at a remote abandoned ski lodge. Naturally, they trespass, do drugs and make out. Of course, they ignore the local townspeople's warning that said lodge may be haunted by the spirit of a little girl who was accidentally killed in a tragic accident a while back. And, biggest surprise of all, some murderous mystery maniac proceeds to viciously bump off the wholly deserving chowderheads one at a time. This entertainingly tacky and silly by-the-numbers body count slice'n'dice fright flick starts out a little slow and clumsy, but steadily improves and gains momentum as it goes along. Director/co-writer Greg Huson fails to build any tension or create a creepy atmosphere, but he does keep the pace moving forward at a steady clip, stages the nicely gruesome murder set pieces with a reasonable amount of flair (gory highlights include two beheadings by steel wire, a hanging by scarf from a ski lift, and an especially nifty impalement by icicle), and elicits acceptable performances from an attractive cast of young unknowns. Better yet, the female cast members are all smoking hot (luscious brunette looker Holly Towne in particular is a major babe who even bares her tasty bod in a fairly steamy sex scene), the snow-covered wintry landscapes look gorgeous, and there's plenty of choice stupid dialogue ("I don't ski - I shred"). Charles A. Schner's polished cinematography, Alan Derian's spooky score, and the occasionally snazzy MTV-style flashy jump editing are all likewise up to par. Granted, this sure ain't anything terribly special or remarkable, but this pleasingly modest little piece of low-budget horror junk does the trick all the same.
stupied-man08 This movie is so cheap and stupid but funny. The thing i liked about this movie was that it was set in a cold snowy place where i've never seen a slasher horror set before, but other then that its crap!!!The plot is simple and stupid and has no originality. Its not scary, has bad acting and bull death scenes but i loved to laugh at it nether the less and it did entertain.if i was you i wouldn't buy it on DVD its a complete waste of money i only got it on DVD because it got it from a pound shop.Well i give it a fair 4 out of 10 because of funny bits and the sex scenes
