Raetsonwe Redundant and unnecessary.
Noutions Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
kosmasp Or in Fear or something along those lines. This movie is about terror, yes, but it's about so many other (personal/human) things too, that I am still amazed by the fact not more people have seen this. It might only have a small budget, play secluded, not have a big cast, but it has everything a movie needs. Heart, drama, a great script with many twists and turns. What more do you need? Nothing. The performances are really great and reliable/believable. You might not agree with everything that is done, but you can understand why everything is happening. And it's not a fun ride, but a really rewarding one. One that might have you devastated by the end of the movie. And that is a good thing, because your relationship with this movie will have gone to another level ... just as relationships tend to do ...
dawulf I found this movie one night on Netflix and thought what the heck? There was nothing else on. I was delightfully surprised.I am a fan of apocalyptic themed books and movies and thought this was very good despite its small budget. There is not a lot by way of sets and does not have a huge well known cast..but the plot is incredible.A dirty bomb goes of in the city. The main male character tries unsuccessfully to follow his wife who works in the city. He can't and ends up back at home where all news reports are saying to seal up all your windows and doors, don't you dare go outside or let anyone in, they are contaminated. So what do you do when someone comes to your door for help and shelter? What if it's a stranger? What if it's family? I found the movie to be very riveting and the irony of the end is unbelievable.
MattyGibbs This is a low budget film based on an unknown viral catastrophe. The film focuses on one family and how the deal with the perceived threat. The film feels very claustrophobic based on the fact it is mainly set indoors. The actors all do a good job as the tension grows throughout the film. The real beauty of the film for me was the ending which is unexpected and brilliantly realised. Maybe Spielberg can learn from this on how to end a film. Having seen this film 3 times now and enjoying it every time I strongly recommend it.
amesmonde A poisonous bomb is set-off spreading a toxic cloud across Los Angeles. Brad seals himself in his house for his own survival, however, he becomes torn between letting his wife back in to their home or leaving her outside to die.Chris Gorak direction and camera work gives a sense of realism and he gives the viewer a cleverly written ending. There is some tension created especially when the gas masked army personnel want to get access to his house. Gorak's screenplay is dark and grim. It explores self-preservation, moral decisions and ones conscience. The acting is first rate and natural, Mary McCormack is great and Rory Cochrane is excellent as Brad, a normal everyday guy. However, Right at Your Door appears to run out of steam midway through, not knowing what to do with the characters.Carriers (2009) appears to have borrowed a lot from Gorak's offering, but like Carriers it's not a film you'd want to sit thought again.Overall, an emotional great idea that's well made but becomes monotonous.
