SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
jacobjohntaylor1 This a very scary movie. It a very good prequel. It has a great story line. It also has great acting. It also has great special effects. It is very scary. It not 4.4. This is a 9. It a great horror film. It is very scary. It is better. A Nightmare on elm street. And that is not easy to do. This is better then The Shinning. It very scary. If it does not scary you know movie will. See this movie. It so scary. I got 4.4 from people who do not know a good horror movie. See this movie. It is one of the scariest movies of all time. See it. It will scary you. If you like good horror stories you will like this movie.
gabedrumminggamer Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE Puppet Master fan. I like every movie, some I love. And when I watched this, I was very satisfied. The puppets were awesome for the screen time they were given and did what they do best. The acting was average, the gore was good, and the storyline was pretty good. The only errors (which I hate to point out) are the dialogue, amount of gore, and not as much screen time for the puppets as in other films, which was fine due to the budget. However, I only recommend this movie to Puppet Master fans or fans of Charles Band and Full Moon. If you are just a horror film watcher, you will be too judgmental of this film. Go Blade!
Michael_Elliott Puppet Master: Axis of Evil (2010) * 1/2 (out of 4) The tenth film in the series starts off just moments after the opening sequences in the original PUPPET MASTER and Andre Toulon has just killed himself to keep his dolls away from the Nazies. The crippled Danny Coogan (Levi Fiehler), disappointed that he won't be able to fight in the war, finds the dolls and soon realizes they're all caught up with some German spies. PUPPET MASTER: AXIS OF EVIL comes twenty-one years after the original movie and you have to give the series credit for stretching for ten movies no matter how bad some of them are. With that said, this tenth installment has a pretty interesting story idea but sadly the thing never really comes together and the puppets are here for an unknown reason. The biggest problem with the film is that it appears to want to be some sort of WWII drama but they knew the idea wouldn't sell so they had to wrap the puppets around the storyline. I think most fans are going to be disappointed because the puppets really don't have too much screen time and you can't help but think they were only included for commercial reasons (whatever they might be after all these years). Another problem is that very little effort went into the special effects and it was rare for us to ever get the feeling that these puppets were really alive. The special effects were all rather minor and the film doesn't even offer us any memorable kill sequences and there's certainly no real drama. What does work is the actual story because it was somewhat entertaining seeing the guy wanting to serve his country and finding another way of doing so. This type of story certainly isn't very common for 2010 but while the war was going on these type of films were constantly being released. I thought Charles Band and company deserve credit for trying to do something different but I think the film might have worked best as a standalone picture and not the tenth installment of an already washed up series.
shootyhoops I'm a huge fan of the Puppet Master series and have been praying for a sequel worthy of making me forget about crappy sequels such as Curse of the Puppet Master and Puppet Master: Legacy.UNFORTUNATELY, my prayers were NOT answered and was presented the antithesis of what I wanted. Why this movie SUCKED?1. God Awful acting. Yes, I know it's a B-movie and not to expect Oscar worthy performances, but this was VERY sub-par for a B-movie or a Full Moon production in general. The actress who played Ozu did one of the WORST Asian accents ever. She sounded like a constipated Bernadette Peters. The Nazi's kept falling out of a German accent into a VERY American sounding accent. Actually, I don't think they were ever speaking in a German accent. The actor who played Don was VERY annoying and I was kind of glad when the character died and became a silent puppet.2. NO Respect to History and NO Effort in Writing. The writers clearly did NOT pick up a history book. This movie is set in 1939 and yet Pearl Harbor, Nazi Death Camps, and Kamikaze pilots have already existed. These things did NOT happen until after 1941. This movie was just an excuse to spew out every anti-Japanese/German sentiment said during WWII. In addition to the poor attention to details, the movie sounded like it was written by an elementary school student.Bottom Line: Watch it online for free!
