Nonureva Really Surprised!
Forumrxes Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
sirako ***spoilers ahead, but it doesn't matter**** I decided to write a review because must of the bad reviews criticize the fact that the movie is confusing and the plot isn't clear, but that is not really relevant in my opinion.I've enjoyed absurd movies like Funky forest, Ka-boom, or any Monty Phyton, Marx brothers movie, I actually find it better when some or a lot of absurdity is added. But the fact is that this movie is just a try, and it is very sad.Since the first 10 seconds of the movie, I knew it was going to suck, but I was told that I was going to enjoy it a lot, so I watched it entirely. It starts with a murder, and goes straight to the main character, which is this boring loser girl, so stereotyped it looks always fake, and then she is attempted to be murdered, and then we imminently know who the killer is, but since the writers made this so weak and obvious, they start adding stuff in, what I think was sort of an effort to make the movie worthy, but it never takes off, they try and try to make it fun and dynamic, but it's just chopped in disjointed pieces that never match. It comes to my attention the fact that some of the reviewers mention the fast pace in the film, cause, to me, it was slow, maybe cause it never really intrigued me.It's full of clichés, but not in a funny way, looks like they are actually using clichés as resources more than making fun of them. It's full of references to other movies and series (The Fly, The matrix, Iron Man, etc) but it's never in a clever way, it seems like all the pop culture is added just because, and it never gets to the point where references are actually funny or worth added. I laughed just once, and now I don't remember why.The time travel makes no sense at all and it's also not fun or funny, so I guess it was just added to try to make a joke (Riley is the girl who goes down in the school stuffed bear). And as in every other aspect of the movie, I think they were trying to make fun of the horror and comedy genres, but they ended just copying the mistakes, instead of doing intelligent comments on how movies suck, or something.I guess the movie is fun if you enjoy gratuitous references and if just some 90's paraphernalia is shown. If you are used to intelligent script writing, good characters construction and humor built on effective criticism, this movie is not for you. If you enjoy the "Not another teen movie..." kind of humor, this is not as cheesy, yet funny in that way. So as I said before, I think is mediocre and not worth watching.(Yet, a lot of reviews say it's awesome, I never really understood why)
tklowe79 After watching this movie I wanted to tell everyone about it because I loved it so much but didn't know how to describe it. It was like a bunch of 80's and 90's teen comedies and horror films rolled into one fast-paced entertaining movie. I did find myself puzzled a few times because certain plot points were so unexpected but I loved it. It's definitely a hidden gem and I found it as a recommended movies on Netflix. It's definitely not a movie for everyone but it's the first movie I've watched in a long time that made me want to immediately watch it again partly because I think I'll see things I missed and also because I was so entertained.
Tom Allan The entire film felt like the director was showcasing his taste in popular culture. Absolutely no value to a mainstream audience.Thin plot, generic characters, and whimsy instead of an actual coherent storyline. For the most part, it was just clichéd references to films that are actually better than the one you're watching. We only watched it because it appeared in the horror section of Netflix, but it turned out to be much more horrifying than we expected. If it weren't for all the janky side stories, the main plot about the serial killer would have lasted around 20 minutes. And I wish it did.Extremely boring trash marketed towards nineties kids who jack off over corded land-line phones.
LeonLouisRicci This Movie takes Excess to, well, Excessively Entertaining levels of Hyper-Absurdity. Trying to write about this Amazing Adventure into Pop Culture references and Self-Awareness is Difficult to say the Least. It is Hypnotic and Annoying, Visually Impressive and Incoherent. A Fun Nightmare of Images and Sound that are so Up Front that it is not so much in Your face as in Your head. Whether that is a Good Thing or not will depend on Your ability to withstand a Pleasurable Migraine. It is Nothing if not about Everything that is supposedly, in and among Modern Teens, that is Post Modern, Cool, Hip, With It, Retro, Today, Yesterday, and the Future of Civilization in the hands of these High Schoolers. There is so, so much here that if you are so inclined might invite Multiple Viewings. It wears its Cult Movie Pretensions well as it wears on Your Tolerance for Over Indulgence and Mind Altering Substances. The Movie is all over the map and when it is all over, it Challenges the Viewer to make sense of what They have just been offered. It will most likely be a Love it or Hate it Film guaranteed to Alienate. Although this is Refreshing Filmmaking, it will also Siphon Energy like a Synthetic Sponge and leave Limp those who dare give this Movie a Watch. After all, it dares You to give it a try and then Double Dares you to make anything out of it that is Profound. It never is and You never will.
