Four stories intersect in this violent film parody. Exterminators dress as hit men and try to protect the wife of their boss, Montello. Meanwhile, the strippers at Montello's strip club, dressed as nuns, attempt to rob him. Tag-team wrestlers steal Montello's briefcase, thinking its contents are valuable. Finally, Bumpkin, running to deliver a script, loses a lot of the pages.

Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Harriet Deltubbo Don't believe the hype! This movie is stupid and has no humor. There's not a single clever or funny line in this thing. Sorry, but almost every joke in this film is absolutely pointless. That said, some great costumes and dialog move it all along. All of the fancy characters struggle against a system that has perpetuated falsehoods, and there seems to be gentle fisticuffs back and forth with those who claim to work for justice. From an artistic standpoint, there were some plot elements and character developments I didn't think were totally needed. They do however drive the story, which seemed to be their purpose, so I can accept them.
Syl I gave it a try a second time. Years had passed since I first bought the tape, look, it's a spoof of Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Forrest Gump, and other films. It's not supposed to be serious, it's supposed to stupid. I thought the nuns were funny trying to rob a bank. Sandra Bernhard plays the Amanda Plummer role from Pulp Fiction. Dan Castellanata plays the Forrest Gump character in this film. I love Julie Brown and I don't understand why she does not have a hit sitcom or is working as much as she is. Everybody remembers her from Just Say Julie show on MTV don't they, she's the funniest woman in Hollywood as we speak. Her role as Mimi Hungry is unforgettable. First, the movie is not meant to be taken seriously. It just wants to spoof Tarantino films and Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers. Okay, it's not masterpiece theater but you can watch it.
BigHardcoreRed I rented this one because I heard it was funny. I don't remember where I could have possibly heard that because it was anything but funny. I've seen all the movies it attempted to spoof and I understood all the "jokes". I was even amused at first, but that didn't last long. The pure and simple truth is that this movie was not funny. Not in the least. It was so bad, it reminded me of The Underground Comedy Movie. That was horrendous, too. I think I laughed at least once in that one, though. I didn't laugh at one joke or gag in this one. I did find it a tad clever at times, but not enough to make it anywhere near a good movie. The worst of the worst was Sandra Bernhard. Man, she has to be the worst actress I've ever seen. She would give the girls in Savage Roses a run for their money for worst actress. It's pretty bad when you can't act well enough for a parody. I can't believe she's still getting work. Enough time wasted on her.If I had to say something good about the movie, the only thing that stands out is Tommy Davidson. He can do a dead-on Samuel L. Jackson and he was the highlight of the movie. Not something to be proud of. It's a shame that Bernhard is still working and Davidson hasn't been around for a couple of years. It is because of Tommy's performance that I would give this movie 2 stars out of 10 (instead of 1). Don't say you haven't been warned.
Pepper Anne 'Plump Fiction' is really aimed at those who think the success of Quentin Tarentino movies are really overrated, or that the director himself is quite pretentious (and you probably would if you've seen him in interviews, especially on the DVD commentary of his films). The movie opens up with that Star-Wars span of written introduction of how, at the 1994 Cannes Festival, an unknown director showed a movie totally out of sequence (and basically not making any sense, anyway) with lots of violence and lang cursing, wowed audiences made everybody filthy rich. They exploit that all in this movie. It doesn't make a lick of sense, but there's plent of violence, cursing, and an out-of-sequence story. 'Plump Fiction' is a spoof of three particular films: Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, and Natural Born Killers (yes, that's an Oliver Stone movie). And it's so stupid, it's funny (though not everything in it is so outrageously funny as most spoofs tend to be). I would agree with one viewer who wrote that the funniest sequences in the film are those that spoof Natural Born Killers because the characters who mock Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis's renegade fugitive gun-toting team are absolutely hilarious. I also liked the introduction scene with Sandra Bernhard as the insulting, angry Amanda Plummer knock off of Pulp Fiction. She's so funny and the entire dialogue is so stupid.Instead of Marscellas Wallace, you have an Italian strip lounge owner/exterminator named Montello Hungry, and his goons are The Exterminators (literally), Jimmy Nova and Julius. The entire French translation sequence that takes place in the car is now about Euro Disney instead of hamburgers. Jimmy now has to babysit Montello's disgusting gluttunous wife, Mimi (played the fantastic Julie Brown), who's a diabetic of all things. There's a scene mocking Reservoir Dogs where a bunch of nuns (aptly named Sister Sister and Sister Sledge, among others) who plan a robbery. That's pretty funny. Sister Sledge (Simbi Khali) is played by the same woman who is 'Nina' on 3rd Rock From the Sun. She's pretty funny here. The Forrest Gump character, Bumpkin, and the Gimp character (from Nell) were pretty stupid and their scenes (like the convenient store hold-up) were a waste of time. There's other independent movies poked at here, too (see the scenes at the Independent Bar). I thought Priscilla, Queen of the Deserts was pretty clever. Anyway, it wasn't a bad spoof. Not as outrageously funny as maybe some of your Zucker/Abrams/Zucker or Carl Reiner movies (they reign king on the spoofs), but it still offers a lot of laughs.
