Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
francysherrerap I thought this movie was funny. I've watched it more than once. I think it's underrated. I don't understand why.
vincenttciccarello By the way, this review is really an 8/10, not a 10/10. However, I'm giving this movie a 10/10 because it I don't think it deserves a 4.0 rating. It's not the best movie in the world, nor the worst. I liked this movie because it's funny, Norbit (Eddie Murphy) was funny himself. He gets married to a rude, chubby lady named Rasputia, who has 3 older brothers. Before Norbit gets married to Rasputia or even married her in the first place, he becomes friend with a nicer girl named Kate. Throughout the movie, we see Rasputia cheat on and pick on Norbit. She cheats on Nor it by having s*x with her dancing instructor in her dance class. Rasputia sometimes yells at Norbit and sometimes hits him. Towards the end of the movie, we realize that Kate's fiancé only wants to marry her for her money and that Rasputia's brothers wanted the money also. Also, Norbit and Kate get married and Rasputia and her brothers run off to Mexico. The End! Sure, the characters sound like a**holes, but their still funny.8/10
Davis P Norbit was definitely disappointing to me when i decided to give it a try one night. The "jokes" were pretty bland and most fell flat. And some scenes were just gross and not even funny. I feel like this movie tried wayyy to hard to be funny, and ultimately failed at it. And to see Eddie Murphy and Cuba Gooding Jr. In this is just depressing! Come on guys, you are great actors, you can do sooo much better than this! I did chuckle a few times, but that was the extant of the laughter. The rest of the movie was just chock full of bad acting, dull humor, bad jokes, and uncomfortable scenes. I would love to actually see a good Eddie Murphy comedy, Daddy Day Care is much better than this one! Much better! I was just glad when this crude, unfunny trifle was over with. 3/10 for Norbit, and I think a 3 is more then fair! Hopefully Cuba Gooding Jr. will make better movie choices, course he did do daddy day Camp, oh god that review is for another day
lakesidentertainment My problem with this film is as follows: It's not offensive. Humour, in my opinion, is not offensive. This film simply lacks quality. This is what would happen if you taught a third grader all the sexual, racial, and societal humour of a thirty-year-old but left them with the brain of a third-grader. Essentially, there is no quality here. Just not funny, and it's not bad enough to fit into that category of "so bad it's good." It's neither funny, racist, offensive or anything at all. It's not worth wasting your time watching. I watched this movie with a girlfriend and didn't chuckle once, I was simply bored. I miss the good old days of Blazing Saddles and good social commentary.
