Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
adonis98-743-186503 Alex, a mysterious thief, is pulled in by her former partner for one last heist. She quickly finds it was never just about the diamonds. A brutal murder sparks a cat and mouse chase between Alex and a master assassin. Now she must uncover the lies behind the heist and discover the secrets behind the men who have made her a target. Momentum is a better action film that it might got credit for with both Olga and James Purefoy being excellent in their roles and even Morgan Freeman's role was decent enough, the action was quite well directed and the plot was interesting enough for me. Overall a decent enough action film with a well known and talented cast that does a great job. (7/10)
SnoopyStyle Alexis Farraday (Olga Kurylenko) gets pulled into another job by her running mate Kevin Fuller. It's a bank heist to steal diamonds. Alexis gets unmasked in a fight against one of the robbery crew. Mr. Washington (James Purefoy) hired by a Senator (Morgan Freeman) comes looking not just for the diamonds but a computer drive. He kills Fuller but Alexis escapes with the drive. The story is simple. It relies on action and not much else. It's alright for a 90's gun fight action film. The action is done well enough. There is a good variety of gun, hand-to-hand, and car chases. It needs more in terms of dialog and characterization. The writing is lackluster. Kurylenko is still not the best actress around and struggles to be the lead. Campanelli is trying make the jump from camera operator to director. A simple thing like more specificity to Freeman's character would help. The movie often stalls when the action gets stuck in one location. It becomes static especially for an action movie. The camera work may be correct but the directing is unimaginative.
tolake I am already starting to question the acting ability of some of the actors and I am only 10 minutes into the movie. If you are going to have a budget of 20 million, at least hire a casting agent. Colin Moss needs to learn how to act. His performance grating.Olga Kurylenko is easy to watch and her role as a tough thief allows her to be tough and no-nonsense. She will keep me watching it.Stay tunes for Review Part2.Waiting for James Purefoy to show up. James and Olga should sizzle, even if he is the bad guy.2nd part of review after finishing the movie. They wasted a lot of quality actors on a poorly written script. The movie is so empty, that they had to fill it with chatty dialog so we would be on the edge of our seats, waiting for the next round of dialog to break up the violence. Too bad. Even Morgan Freeman and James Purefoy couldn't save this mess. And they left it hanging, so there can be a sequel. Tell me it isn't so.
nowplaying108 Every action movie needs a macguffin. A macguffin is the reason everyone is running around killing each other. It's nice if when you finally learn the macguffin it carries some value and sense of reality that fits into the film and makes all the action and mayhem seem worthwhile. Unfortunately, the ending in this movie is both incredibly stupid and utterly ridiculous. It amazes me how many movies can be destroyed in the last five minutes and this is one of them. The writers, director and producers should be ashamed of themselves. On the plus side all the actors are really good. Olga Kurylenko is particularly cool. The action is good. But then there's the ending and you feel like you've wasted 90 minutes of your time and want to take a shower to wash the stupidity out of your head.
