AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
Freaktana A Major Disappointment
BeSummers Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Paul Magne Haakonsen I bought this movie under the assumption that it might be a zombie comedy that had something to offer. And especially since there has been a couple of very noteworthy zombie movies rearing its decaying head from Australia, New Zealand and that general area. However, I managed to get only 30 minutes into "Last of the Living" before I had to give up entirely and find something else to watch. This movie failed to captivate me and failed to grasp my interest in the most horrible way. The movie was just so uninspiring and anything but interesting. The 30 minutes that I watched offered no comedy, very little action in terms of zombies and the stuff usually Associated with the zombie genre. Though the characters did seem to have been thoroughly thought through and given stories. But it just wasn't enough to keep me interested. And from what I saw of zombies in the 30 minutes, then the zombies were nothing more than low-budget zombies. You know, the type where the faces are powdered a grayish color and blackened around the eyes. I saw no special effects or anything that would usually be much welcomed in the zombie genre in terms of make-up and special effects. If you are looking for a zombie comedy, then your money, time and effort are better spent on movies such as "Shaun of the Dead" or "Dead Alive", to mention but two of the more established movies in the zombie genre.I have no plans to make a return trip to "Last of the Living" in order to finish watching it. No, it just didn't appeal to me in any way. So this movie will now quietly fade into oblivion on the shelves of the movie collection.
BaronBl00d Oddly watchable New Zealand fare about a trio of men surviving a zombie apocalypse by playing video games, creating head-banging music, reading, exercising, and sharing and strengthening their bond by smashing, kicking, hitting, poking, prodding, etc...zombies in the "outside" world as they go from one posh residence to another. There is a lot going for this low budget production such as believable performances by a trio of basically unknowns(soon there be a fourth with the find of a pretty girl), a script that is at times, somewhat witty, inventive, and just funny but also serious at times as well, some great exterior shots of desolation in the city, convincing(for the most part) undead, and just general competence from all involved. The film has heart and some thought and does not degenerate into some butcherfest. What I like about the film best is that it was basically made for a shoestring budget but is not out and out crap. Talent can be a factor in using financial resources in a manner that can be productive. For a film of this kind it is definitely a notch above the rest - and bear in mind some of those have budgets that would be ten fold more than this film.
bamoore2 This movie was definitely not what I thought it was going to be when I bought this online. I expected a better quality film with a stronger plot. This film's acting was not very great at all, the quality of the filming was not very advanced either (come on guys.)a and the plot was very thin. Who wants to watch three guys run around. The fight scenes did not even look real one bit. It was funny at times, but I feel as if the movie was just an entire joke with some people messing around. Zombies farting? Really? I like zombie movies but this just was not up to standard.I would not recommend buying this movie, but if you must, rent it or watch it on Netflix.
Tommy Dip When I first heard of the movie with elements of horror and comedy, I thought this would be an enjoyable "Shawn of the Dead" kind of zombie flick. But no, it is pretty much a terrible movie. The plot is pretty much missing for the first third of the movie. Three couch potatoes somehow manage through the zombie apocalypse and are living in a mansion doing nothing but goofing off. They also don't even take the whole situation seriously, they treat it as a joke. Furthermore there are almost no zombies throughout the whole movie. There are literally only about 50. Later on they meet a girl named Stiff where suddenly a plot surfaces about taking a sample of the undead's blood to find a cure. Then the 3 males only want to help her because they all want to impress her, very cliché. Dumb jokes, bad acting, stupid dialogue, terrible special effects and atrocious ending make it a bad movie. But that's not to say i did not enjoy the movie. Yes, I just complained about almost all aspects of the film. However I watched this with my friends on a late Friday night and we had a fun time. The jokes and special effects are very amateur but that's what made us laugh. It's so bad it's funny! So grab some friends, pop some popcorn and don't expect much and you should have an enjoyable hour and a half. Four out of 10 stars.
