Mjeteconer Just perfect...
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
ThrillMessage There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
sche I can't believe how high the rating for this dreck is on this site, because no sensible viewer would claim this is a well made film. The acting is terrible, the dialogue is terrible, and the story is underdeveloped, among other failings. I expected little from this, going into it, and I got even less. Ms Majors, I do hope you've taken some writing and acting classes since this was made.
Michael Ledo Contains midpoint explanation plot spoiler.Kate (Meredith Majors) moves into a home in La Salle, Michigan on Lake Erie where in 1969 an archaeologist (Chris Majors) offed himself with a piece of junk jewelry. She is haunted by images and a quirky neighbor or two. Kate is on meds because her husband (Ben Furney) recently passed. Kate has dreams and sees stuff. The house has...plot spoiler....a portal to another realm, and not a very good one. It is one with big guys with bad teeth, black robes, and low budget make-up jobs. The film quality was worse than made for TV. The acting was bad. Chris and Meredith Majors were laughably bad as was the dialogue. The plot could have proved interesting if it was done correctly with real actors.Guide: 1-2 F-bombs. Nudity (Victoria Johnstone)
giselle lawrence In the plot, the main character is haunted by the original house owner who gets trapped in purgatory due to some ancient Egyptian amulet. In watching the show, I was questioning whether the woman was going crazy since she just tragically lost her husband, or if she was really experiencing the haunting. The ending, I liked, because she ended up trapped in purgatory herself. However, what I didn't quite understand was who the other two women were...how were they really related to the man?...I think the director could have done more to bring out these characters, and their genuine motives. All in all, it wasn't that bad...it's worth a watch.
TopFlix7 This movie's greatest strength is its ability to build tension and not rely on jump scares. It really captures the feeling of what it's like being alone in a creepy house (my family has an old house and I have been there alone, even the little things freaked me out.) I appreciate the shower scene not having blood coming out of the shower head, that has been done to death and I was getting worried when the scene began. Dirty, mucky lake water was a clever twist to an old horror trope. Nicely done.Bonus point for shooting the film using the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes are amazing and don't get enough love in movies! I would really love a Put in Bay movie
