WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
poco-81036 When I first started watching this I thought, "This isn't very inspired. Oh well, maybe it'll get better when the miracles come along." When Jesus healed a demon possessed boy and said He was speaking to the boy, not the evil inside him, I was thinking, "Okay, the Jesus I know always spoke directly to the demon." When Jesus looked SURPRISED that the boy actually was healed, I thought,"Okay. Now we're in trouble. Bad enough that John the Baptist had to tell Jesus who He was. But now we are messing with the miracles." I stopped watching when Jesus was told John the Baptist was taken prisoner and Jesus gets upset and speaks of "injustice". The icing on the cake was when He said, "Now I know I've not come to bring peace, but a sword." TOTALLY out of context to the point in the REAL Bible when He said that. Enough is enough. My only wish is that I could've given it less than one star. Maybe if I pray for a miracle?
mandcsharma Firstly I have no idea why the negative reviews, watch this as you would any National Geo production. I believe that this is a closer representation of the life of Jesus than Jesus of Nazareth. It was great to see an Arab actor playing Jesus as this is more believable.See this as what it is, an honest look using only historical facts of a story. I think Haaz Sleiman is brilliant playing Jesus & so is Stephen Moyer as Pontius Pilate. I understand that this will not be for devout Christians, but open minded people who are willing to take another view of a story.I was reluctant watching this as I am not a fan of Bill O'Reilly, but I decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised, I think maybe his strength is in writing rather than television.
dguptill Spoiler alert: This is a poorly done movie about the Greatest Story on Earth. From the beginning of this movie it is inaccurate both by history as written by Ciafis and by the Bible. This is obviously a Hollywood version done by ignoramuses who either cannot read or didn't read the Bible story of Jesus. The actor who portrayed Jesus was a poor choice and his lines were poorly done. Although his lines were probably part of the farce the movie Mogul put together. I am surprised that the actors who are easily identifiable did not protest the poor structure and story line as presented. If your are planning to pay money to see this movie, save your money. If it is a free view I am sure you could find something more uplifting to watch.
Ryan Prince -Killing Jesus (2015) movie review: -Killing Jesus is a TV movie by National Geographic, giving a look at the ministry and death of Jesus of Nazareth from both his perspective and the perspectives of those who ordered his death. This attempt as a religious telling takes a non-biased look at the story of Christ, essentially adding biased against the truth told in the actual story. I'll get in to that later.-Technically, it was not that bad. I will review part of it from that standpoint. However I am also going to review the content and what it represents, which was less than satisfying for a film that only needed to do the same as the other hundred films like this one.-The story was told from both the perspectives of Jesus' captors as well as Jesus, so it feels inconsistent. They also skipped a few points that help develop other points in Christ's ministry.-The film had a slow start and an odd pace that rushed through a bit of time without letting the audience know. Rushed ending too.-The acting is functional. Haaz Sleiman plays a good Jesus, but not a great one. It also has some people like Kelsey Grammar, Rufus Sewell, and John Rhys-Davies in it, who do a good job.-The characters are not all that good or accurate. Jesus whines and at one point talks about how He wants to lead a rebellion with swords. Because that obviously happened. To make this part short, when it comes to characters there is almost no regard for the actual Bible.-I liked the music. It was very Bear McCreary-esque.-The production value was acceptable, and I loved that they had a Jewish looking Jesus. Other than that, this film is both factually and Biblically inaccurate through most of its passive attempt to tell the story of Christ. Ending it ambiguously while not having things like the Holy Spirit in it once just truly take everything out of the meaning.-Technically, it is not terrible. It has a decent design, acting that is not too bad, and a good score. Biblically and historically, it gets little right and takes the extra step to ensure this comes from a non-biased worldview, which in turn takes God out of it. Killing Jesus is not worth the time.-Killing Jesus holds a PG-13 rating for violence and some partial nudity.
