Of course there have been tens of thousands of real women who have been held captive against their will. As an example there were the three (3) young ladies that were held captive against their will for almost ten (10) years in Cleveland by the serial predator and rapist Ariel Castro. The 2015 film titled Cleveland Abduction documented in detail what these three women went through and how they eventually escaped Castro's in-house prison. (You can read my IMDB review on this film dated May 05th, 2015.)This Lifetime film was deeply unrealistic by how blatantly neglectful both the local police and newspapers were in not covering the abduction story of missing women if it really did occur. This is a very much exaggerated "women held prisoner" by a neat and tidy wacko neighbor. Although the story line is an interesting concept in which the captor is still living in the 1950's based on his physical appearance, the car he drives, and how is basement prison is decorated with retro 1950's furniture and appliances, there doesn't seem to be any Dick Tracy around to solve the case of these missing women.As in many other films, the ending leaves a lot to be desired and was a letdown for me. I give the film a 6 out of 10 rating.

***SPOILERS*** Coming home one night after seeing a play Evan & Jessica Crowder, Andrew W. Walker & Courtney Ford, find their apartment broken into and end up getting ripped off-at gunpoint- of all their valuables including Jessica's engagement ring by the friendly neighbor crack-head Matt Enos looking for his latest fix. Determined to start a new life in the, so they think, crime free suburbs the two get into hock by buying a house in Monroe County even if it cost more then they can afford. It's then that the Crowder's next door neighbor collage professor Simon,Shaun Benson, starts snooping around their home and trying to get friendly with them.It soon turns out that after Simon saw Jessica tossing a salad while chit chatting with her husband Evan a light went out on in his head to both kidnap and make her his personal sex slave. It didn't take long for Simon to get Jessica under his control by first kidnapping her and then locking her in his sound as well as bomb proof bunker under his house to do whatever that his sick mind wan't to do with the helpless woman. It also turns out that Simon has another sex slave hidden in his bunker the Mooonie and brain dead like Robin Simmons, Rachael Wilson, who's been trapped there for the last four years! ***SPOILERS*** As it turned out Simon had no idea what two women under one roof can cause with them fighting, at least Robin, over his affections towards them which ends up with Bobbie getting the far worst of it! That with Simon slashing her throat when she tries to get him to do the same to Jessica whom he now, feeling that Robin is damaged goods, makes his main and only squeeze! It's in the end that Simon who by now has gone completely out of his mind who lets his guard down and gets clobbered by Jessica when her husband, who thought she ran out on him, Evan finally put two and two together and confronted the crazy as a mad hatter Simon in his bunker. Now behind bars and facing a bleak future Simon gets a visit from Jessica in prison with her new published book "Kept Woman" so he can spend his time reading about his exploit and seeing just how crazy he was back then and, from the looks of him, still is.

Some lifetime movies are better than others this one was not one of them.I really didn't care for Jessica or her husband. Jessica just had such a blah personality who would want to kidnap her and have to be around her all the time? Jessica was suspicious of Simon yet she invites him to dinner and goes right into his house alone? That part just didn't seem right at all. The hubby just believed she had just left without her cell phone and without contacting anyone she knew? He didn't even seem to into finding her or searching very hard you never even saw him try to contact any family??Jessica sure looked like she was enjoying sex with Simon. She just goes off that easy night after night having sex with Simon. What a waste of 2 hours of my life!

This is such a diabolical plot. Having walked in on a burglary in their home, a young couple move to the suburbs to escape the so called crime in the city. What they come upon in their new digs is just too incredible to believe. Their neighbor is a young college professor who waits until the couple has a tiff and invites the woman to his home.He then proceeds to kidnap the woman and place her in the basement in a bunker like atmosphere. Another woman, totally complacent and in a trance is also being held there.The only way our recent victim can survive is to play along with her captive. This provokes eventual jealousy from the other woman and gets the latter killed.A cop friend of the couple meets a similar fate when he begins to suspect what is occurring. Our killer sends emails to her boyfriend telling him that she has left him for another man.Playing along is the only way for survival and eventual freedom. Quite eerie to say the least.
