BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Bergorks If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Tina Willis This was a very smartly written screenplay. A creepy type mystery, drama and thriller with a sci-fi flavor all rolled up into one. Even an occasional humorous line here and there. The cast was pretty large and every single actor did a top notch job. The setting was mainly in a grocery store, and most of it at night. On occasion it was difficult to see details. Now I don't know if that was the quality of the film and camera THEY used, MY device, OR the quality of the copy of the film streaming. The special affects were realistic and not over the top. (Very unusual for a small budgeted, independent film)The camera work was creative, offering a variety of angles and shots, slow motion etc...with a minimum of the shaky hand held camera syndrome that I detest so much used so often now a days. The pacing was just fast enough to keep me interested but full enough to make me feel involved and care about what was happening. The score appropriate and added to the scenes. Editing well done. This is the BEST small budgeted independent no major star movie, I have ever seen.
rexferal11-856-669191 This film is absolutely brilliant in its premise, setting, direction and cinematography. The story, written by David Simkins, with screenplay by Julia Fair, is original and cogent. The director, Ben Rock, does a superb job of bringing this suspenseful story to life. Walt Lloyd's cinematography sets the scenes beautifully without the darkening that too often hides the action. The camera work, primarily utilizing the relatively new Panasonic HPX 3000, is smooth and nearly flawless. Augie Hess's editing keeps the story moving at an intense rate. The acting? Above par in every way. The characters are well cast, believable, and distinguishable - that is, one can become immersed in the story without struggling to keep track of who's who. Across the board this is an exceptionally well made movie at every level. I recommend it to fans of thrillers and science fiction. Alien Raiders combines the very best of both.
bowmanblue The only thing you need to ask yourself when deciding whether or not to watch a film called 'Alien Raiders' is… do I like the sound of a film called 'Alien Raiders?' If the answer is 'Yes' then you'll probably get something out of it. However, if the answer is a, 'No – that sounds like one of those cheap B-movies you see in baskets at petrol stations for £3,' then you're probably better off passing this one by.It's one of those films like 'Snakes on a Plane' where you basically know what you're getting from the title. It's about a group of aliens (who look human to save on special effects) who are tracking down a bad alien and take a group of humans hostage in a supermarket while they try and figure out who's infected. It starts off slow, but picks up pace about half way through. And then it becomes a reasonable little B-movie. So, for anyone with a taste for sci-fi who isn't expecting 'Avatar-like' special effects, you may just get an hour and twenty minutes (cheap) amusement out of this.http://thewrongtreemoviereviews.blogspot.co.uk/
Wizard-8 I feel that I should first point out that I enjoy watching a lot of low budget direct to DVD movies, so I thought that "Alien Raiders" would have a lot to enjoy. However, I have to admit that I was preparing to write this negative review a long time before the movie reached its end. The movie is extremely confusing - it's not made clear where the gun-wielding hostage takers came from, what they know and how they know what they know. These characters, as well as most of the protagonists, are extremely grating and annoying, making it hard to care what happens to them. If you are looking for gore and monster action, there's not much of that stuff here. Further adding to the problems is that the cinematography makes the movie look cheaper and cruder than it actually is. About the only praise I can give this movie is that they managed to shoot in an actual supermarket, which helps, but only a little.
