Angels_Review What can I say, I really like Charlie Brown Specials most of the time. This one is one of my favorites because I grew up with it as a child. It's jokes are actually rather good and are pretty much funny. In fact, the very first joke is with Marci and Peppermint Patty where Marci brings eggs over to color at Patty's house, but then starts frying them up when she gets there and as Patty is making the dye. It's cute, and though it may be a little off at times, you have to remember these are young kids who don't seem to have a adult around to help them.Again, as with almost every holiday in the peanuts world, Snoopy goes overboard and is the spokes character for the holiday. In this case, throwing Easter eggs to the children as he skipped and hoped around. I had to laugh at the ending part. Not going to spoil it for you though. Also, each joke follows the same lines as the first few shows in where we would get a small scene with an end joke and then jump to the next. Sometimes the joke will run for multiple scenes depending on what they can get out of it but nothing really feels as though they stretched it to long.The artwork really doesn't give me much to talk about because it's the same that we have had from the show, the characters looking as though they came straight from the comic pages. That alone makes it a treasure in my book plus the fact that this it's pretty much a timeless classic. It's one that may not get a full 5 stars out of 5, but it will be one that I would encourage people to watch.

cairn6 ....because in this Charlie Brown outing several dozen get destroyed! Easter time in Charlie Brown's neck of the woods, and the kids find new and interesting ways to make it amusing. First off is Peppermint Patty's futile attempt to teach Marcie how to make colored eggs. Back to the Discount Mart they go...quite a few times....for another dozen. Then we see Snoopy trying to create a comfortable bird house for Woodstock... this he does but accidentally destroys it, so...back to the Discount Mart he goes...for another birdhouse. Then we see Sally wanting a new pair of shoes and persuades her big brother Charlie Brown to take her shopping for a pair....so off to the Discount Mart they go....where ol' Chuck is disgusted to see a pre-Christmas sale is underway..."Only 246 days until Christmas!!" And while this is going on, Linus is preparing for the Easter Beagle to arrive with eggs for the good boys and girls. The rest of the gang still has yet to let him live down the whole Great Pumpkin thing from a few specials before. While not deep or sentimental like the original Christmas special, this show manages to draw laughs in only the way the Peanuts can do. This is a funny special which like so many in the series manages to entertain through humor, dialogue, satire, and silliness.

MagnusCarnage Like the Valentine's Day this episode is charming fun. You can't beat a cool Vince Guaraldi soundtrack, wry Charles Schulz humor and the earnest kid's voice actors not to mention some great catch the Beethoven references. This will not disappoint and has much to offer on so many levels. I have not seen it in years, but it cracks me up as much now as it did then. It even has some commentary on modern commercialism which is always heartening. While not as classic as the Christmas and Haloween episodes, it is up there with some of the best, certainly better than the ones which post-dated Vince Guaraldi death. Keep it on the shelf and bring it out in the spring. It will be a tradition you will be proud of!

Shawn Watson The peanuts gang are up to their usual mischief in preparation for Easter Sunday, but no one seems to be listening to Linus. He swears that the Easter Beagle will come and make the celebrations complete. Typically no one listens to him, he is little bit 'Ralph Wiggum' remember.Though Snoopy ends up being that very Beagle, he's far too busy trying to help out Woodstock. The poor little bird is freezing in his cruddy little nest full of cold water. So Snoopy goes off to the mall (already advertising Xmas goodies!) to buy him a bird house. With hilarious results.After much hijinks and endless trips to the mall for eggs (Marcie keeps smashing them as she doesn't know how to do egg-painting) Snoopy saves the day and proves Linus right after all. Sigh! They don't make 'em like this anymore. I'll take Snoopy over Spongebob any day.
