Onlinewsma Absolutely Brilliant!
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Leofwine_draca Interview with a Hit-man is a low budget British thriller with more than a nod to the Hit-man video game and subsequent film as well as THE BOURNE SUPREMACY. It stars straight-to-DVD star Luke Goss playing a former Romanian child who grew up to become a star hit-man and who arrives in UK ready to carry out his latest assignment. Things become complicated when he falls for his target.I'm not sure why there are a wealth of positive reviews on this site because this is a very ordinary and uninteresting story. It's so low budget that there's hardly any action and those action bits that do occur are unconvincing. The story is full of dialogue which is softly-spoken and attempts to build character but it comes across as dull and just as uninteresting as the forays into action. Everything seems long-winded and unfocused and a reliably charming Goss can do nothing to carry the picture. It seems they gave up on this one before they even started.
Julia Woodcock The movie Interview with a Hit-man is about a paid assassin named Viktor who happens to be the youngest killer ever hired to work for the local Russian crime family. Viktor starts killing for them at the age of thirteen. Therefore he becomes the youngest chief enforcer and killer working for the Sergey crime family. The movie is excellent in terms of delivering the story in a way that makes it flow. It hooked me in the moment I began watching it with a scene where Viktor points a gun at a young girl's head. This is later revealed to be the scene right after he makes his first shots and starts off his killing career.
Rick Stead Hadn't heard of this movie. Finally got around to watching this after a friend kept going on about it. Almost switched it off when I saw the Kaleidoscope logo come up. I knew why I hadn't heard of it. Kaleidoscope is one of the poorer distributors in the Uk, usually releasing low budget trash badly. All I can say is I have no idea how they got hold of this film. The writing was on the money, the direction very good and it looked and felt authentic. The best films have a way of getting under your skin and this one stayed with me afterwards. Both the Elliot Greene and Luke Goss were perfect. I'm not a massive fan of Goss but he should have got far more recognition for his performance in this. The writer/director uses the very clever device of the has-been director interviewing a hit-man to hold everything together and jumping from past to present and back again. The action sequences are very accomplished and realistic and leave you wanting more and it's never action for actions sake. But it's the performances that make this for me. And of course the twists, the final one which you will never see coming.Great movie, watch it if you can. You won't regret it.
ksaclo It is about damn time, an underdog low budget movie is straight up done good. The storyline, good, the acting (for the most part) good, no over the top ridiculousness, very believable. Everybody's gripes about how the rating is to low is exactly right. This is a very good movie and can easily make my top 50. Not a lot of Hollywood, which makes this movie even better. Two thumbs way up. The worst part of the movie, is they tend to talk a little low so I had to turn on the subtitles and you have to pay attention to the names and who is who, because it jumps around a little in time. Other than that, it is a solid movie and deserves to have it's rating brought up to at least a 7. I would probably put it at 7.25.
