FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

Redemption or also known as Hummingbird is a slow and grounded action drama that showcase's Jason Statham acting abilities in a role like you've never seen him before. The rest of the Cast does a great job as well and despite some pacing issues or even a weird mix of different genres this was a better film than i remembered. (8/10)
spikenard222 You know why I am giving this film one star? Because the creators of this film, in true Hollywood fashion, just can't help but show us yet another nun have a sexual affair. After Christina and Joey kiss, I thought the filmmakers might actually do something different, you know, like respect Christianity and show the characters come to their senses. But of course not, how silly of me. True devotion to Christ cannot ever, EVER, be shown in a Hollywood film. Sister Christina *of course* has to have a background of sexual abuse, because no one would ever *really* join a religious order without having "issues," right? Life just isn't complete unless one has sex, right? I mean, we can't *possibly* ever see Christians, and *especially* Catholic priests and nuns, actually living faithfully to Christ, right? Of course Sister Christina has to give in to temptation, because no one can resist sexual intimacy for a transcendent calling, right? Because sex is love, right? So if Christina and Joey have sex, then it's true love, right? But of course, why did I ever expect godless producers to produce anything but godless results? It simply couldn't compute in the Hollywood head that they could have made this film *without* the fling in the bedroom with all its emotional violins, and it might have actually been a decent (if very slow) film. Silly me again, thinking you can make a movie without depicting everyone as conflicted, cynical, and downright hypocritical.Amazing how one scene can ruin a whole movie.
Uriah43 While serving in Afghanistan, a British soldier who goes by the name of "Joey" (Jason Statham) becomes emotionally unglued while watching his buddies being killed and takes matters into his own hands by killing a person he had taken prisoner. What he doesn't know is that his prisoner was totally innocent and that his actions are being observed by a drone flying overhead. As a result, rather than face a courts-martial he chooses to go underground and hide out in the mean streets of London. It's at this time that fortune smiles upon him when he accidentally stumbles upon an apartment belonging to a rich businessman who is temporarily on an extended business trip to the United States. This much needed sanctuary gives him the time to regain his strength and sanity in such a way that he is able to attain a large measure of financial success working for a crime boss who deals in drugs and prostitution. Now rather than reveal any more of this movie and risk spoiling it I will just say that it had potential but failed to establish a concise storyline at the beginning which caused confusion further along. I also didn't care for the ending which left too many things unresolved. In any case, it was a decent action film which I thought suffered from poor overall structure and I have rated it accordingly. Average.
Floated2 Similar to many Jason Statham action thrillers, Redemption/Hummingbird is more loosely a typical action film but nonetheless a solid attention seeking slowly paced drama, with several action fight scenes. Statham is able to showcase his acting skills as he plays a tough homeless man seeking a fresh new start from a messy past. What the audience witnesses and what makes the film work is the character development, as we slowly get attached to his character. Along the way, he finds a few close friends such as a helpful nun whom helps him, as we are also suggested that he finds further proof and much needed information from her. Redemption is not a typical action film, as if those watching it simply based on the trailer are expecting that such, they may be very well disappointed. The film broadens into deep and darker territory and it is a joy and pleasure to watch. Redemption not having a wide US release, due to it being a more so UK film, has brought upon the reason why, however the audience does get to view into its further purposes. Filled with great artwork, dialogue and scenery.
