Micransix Crappy film
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
mergatroid-1 I have liked Gary Busy in every movie I've seen him in except this one. His acting, like that of the rest of the case, sucked. It's like they signed him up during a bender and didn't quite get him sobered up before filming started. The rest of the cast sucked, the story sucks, production values are near the bottom of the heap.In short there's nothing I can find about this film that's good, and the only reason I don't give it a 1 out of 10 is because, believe it or not, I HAVE seen worse movies. So, if you see this movie in the bargain bin a your local big box store at $1.00, ask yourself this question: "Do I need another DVD case to fix a movie with a broken case"? If you answer Yes, then buy this movie and use the case to replace your broken one. $1 for a DVD case isn't TOO bad. You might be able to use the DVD to play with your dog.
merklekranz Where to begin? This movie tries to use something from every western ever made and ends up a scrambled mess of a film. As if that is not enough, throw in some kung fu for good measure. Several scenes from Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns are totally ripped off (bathtub gunfire from "The Good The Bad And the Ugly"), (out of range gunfight from "For A Few Dollars More"), (family massacre flashbacks from "Once Upon A Time In The West") The only original ideas in "Ghost Rock" are astoundingly ridiculous (naked female gunfighter, and a hand chopping to a character doing a poor Edgar Buchannan imitation). This is what happens when you have no script, poor acting, zero character development, and unbelievably bad editing. Even the pistols sound like cap guns. - MERK
Margaret Griffin I don't know exactly why I like this movie.Maybe I have a soft spot for shoestring Indies. The dialog is hokey, but the idea is a good one. There's plenty of action and enough gunfighting to take you back to the old westerns where each gun held a box full of lead.I really enjoyed the martial arts.....yes you saw right, martial arts. The stunt work is well choreographed and the boys earn their pay. The eye candy is there...for both sexes. The movie trys,it really does. It's a brave effort, and I'm a sucker for ghost stories. It's not War and Peace, but a good way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy night.Grab some chips and dips and Enjoy!
GAughey-1 I look at these "reviews" and I think to myself..."Self, these people are taking this way too seriously!". Anyway, as long as you realize that the money you spent partially went to help fund my "lil IL' town" of Tuscon (and here's to more productions in the future ((as i speak they're filming a Stephen King film here this morning))) then i'll sleep better at night! :D Personally, i found the movie fun. Yes, a little bit loose on story. Yes, a little bit stereotypical. And Yes, a little flawed on film technique but let us realize that they did'nt have the greatest cameras to shoot film with back in the Old West, now did they?! Oh, and that reference to John's line of "Arigato" at the end... the lady on the stage *was* Japanese.
