Reptileenbu Did you people see the same film I saw?
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
utahman1971 You think this is stupid and the worst, then you must love Troll 2 then. Dumb people should stay in their own group. Should never be invited to the party. Keep your dumb comments to yourself. This is better than what you call better than this. Almost all PG-13 are lame and tame to what real horror movies like this does.Stick with your teeny boppers and be that childish jerk off teenager lover of wanna be PG-13 horror movies that are more of a thriller that can't handle to be a rate R or unrated movie. So many lame people out there to put down better movies and say that better movies are trash, and the trash is what they watch instead, and they praise that instead. The real dummies come on this site to review movies and can't use grammar well, or even type like they are toddlers to give their own opinion of a movie. Stick to your trash and I will enjoy my better movies that you watch anytime. As for gore, it is the best gore movie out there. Anyone that can't handle should of never watched it in the first place. Dummies!Funny, this is one of the best mixed comedy and horror together. So kiss off! Just like the people that TCITW movie. Either love or hate movie, but way too many haters out there. Oh well, if I ever ran into someone that hated this kind of movie, they would never be talked to or recognized as a person at all. Unless, it is my family, then I can forgive them.People I do not at all, won't bother at all to even acknowledge. So keep to yourself. I actually love Metalcore but this is an awesome movie to watch. I love Dead Alive too. So just stick with tame, dummies.
Paul Magne Haakonsen I had no expectations to "Deathgasm" when I sat down to watch it. In fact, I had never even heard about it prior to finding it by sheer random luck on Amazon. I read the synopsis and saw that it had gotten a good score, so I decided to give it a chance. This movie is nothing short of spectacular. It combines all the best things from movies such as "Evil Dead" and "Shaun of the Dead", but it is its very own movie in every aspect. "Deathgasm" is a myriad of assaults on your senses, and it really appeals to us who grew up with horror movies, roleplaying games and metal music. The story is easy to follow, and it offers a lot of entertainment and laughs along the way. Briefly summarized, then it is about a small time local band who stumble upon some very old and mystic pages with lyrics that they turn into a song. But the song calls forth wicked demons and brings havoc to the world around them."Deathgasm" has a lot of good effects. Sure, it is not a CGI fest, like many Hollywood movies have turned into, but it uses its special effects to the best potential, and the effects really serve their purpose quite well."Deathgasm" has some very memorable characters in it, and they are characters that you instantly take a liking to. And that is by means of good writing and also the talented actors and actresses who portrayed them. And while we are on the acting topic, then I will say that the acting in the movie was good, and it was a nice touch to see new faces in a movie such as this. And I will say that the people in the movie really performed quite well, and I hope to get to see more of them in the future.I was thoroughly entertained by "Deathgasm", from start to end, and the movie kicks up into high gear from very early on, and it doesn't release its grip on you before the end credits start to roll on the screen."Deathgasm" is a must watch for fans of the horror comedy genre. This movie landed a rock-solid eight out of ten stars rating from me, without a doubt.
jadavix "Deathgasm" is a future cult classic. It's funny, gory, sexy, and filled with references to actual extreme metal bands, rather than just made up names for shock value. The plot is to do with teenage metal fans who summon demons by singing lyrics they found in an insane metal fan's house. I was grateful that these creatures for once weren't zombies, though it's true that they don't behave that differently to that form of the undead. Our protagonist is bullied by his cousin, who is going out with the beautiful Medina, who of course soon falls for our hero. Why was she going out with the bully in the first place? Just once I'd like to see girls in this situation in movies behave as they do in real life. She's with the bully for a reason. The comparison is obviously going to made between this and Peter Jackson's "Braindead", and "Deathgasm", while highly entertaining, falls short. It's not as visually inventive as Jackson's classic, and didn't hold my attention for 100% of the time, but it's still probably the best horror movie of 2015.
mr-thousand ***Minor Spoilers***"Deathgasm" sounds like the stupid title for a stupid movie, yet the ratings and reviews are pretty good for horror, so I checked it out. I was rewarded big time! Turns out, the title is perfect. It really nails the enthusiastically violent nature of the movie, as well as the mentality of the two teen lead characters.Evidently, it's target audience is teenage boys who love metal, but while I'm decades past that, I still loved it. Although there's lots of metal in the film, it's not necessary to love it to enjoy the movie. However, it is necessary to enjoy excessive gore. About the gore, I want to make clear that it is over the top cartoon gore; it is not torture porn. It's not about hurting people, it's about killing demons/monsters. The characters are lovable misfits, there's plenty of funny dialogue and visual humor, and if there's a gorier movie out there, I haven't seen it. For the easily offended, there are truck loads of things to complain about: extremely graphic gore, including genital trimming and a rectal rooting, along with all the usual dismemberments, nudity, though not nearly enough, excessive foul language, irreverent attitudes and more gore. Most of the make up effects and all the gore are practical effects and they're excellent. Some of the digital effects are not great, but they're used minimally and don't detract too much. The overall production design, lighting and cinematography are all very good. It's not a perfect film, but it's so much fun, that it's sins are easy to overlook. The characters are reasonably well developed for this kind of movie, and appropriately shallow. They don't evolve so much as gradually reveal their true natures. Lead, Milo Cawthorn, who was also in the fun and violent "Blood Punch," is very good, again. James Blake, who plays his buddy, is perfect. I had friends like that back when Black Sabbath WAS heavy metal. The lead babe, played by Kimberley Crossman, is luscious and funny. And, "Deathgasm" is digital effects pro, Jason Lei Howden's, directorial debut and it is impressive. These people have long futures in filmmaking. The supporting cast is also very good and funny. Comparisons to Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead," Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive," and Edgar Wright's "Shaun of the Dead" are spot on. All have become classic horror films from first time feature length filmmakers who are still making worthwhile films. My guess is that Howden will become well known and be making entertaining movies for years to come. I would also look for Milo Cawthorn to show up in more prominent movies.Again, lots of fun, but definitely not for the squeamish, the easily offended, or even those who require perfection in order to enjoy a film.
