As Good As It Gets

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
GUENOT PHILIPPE
When you are familiar with Alexandre Arcady's world, you'll find anything unusual here. The schemes are all the same in his films: family, brotherhood and honor among Jews from Algeria. Sometimes thrillers, such as LE GRAND PARDON, sometimes not. This is actually one. The story of five brothers who have to face serious problems with the mob from Marseilles - gypsies. Because one of the five is implicated with the gypsies concerning an old vengeance story.EVERYTHING here is predictable, unbelievable and forgettable. But the actors are quite good, the movie itself not boring and Françoise Fabian outstanding in the five's mother character. But that's all. A fair picture, but not enough for me.
