Kidskycom It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
adonis98-743-186503 A young woman, after witnessing her parents' murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. Colombiana benefits from some strong performances by a very talented cast such as Zoe Saldana and Cliff Curtis. The film has a good structure of action and drama but it's story is kinda so so at times for example Cataleya's past comes and goes fast and i wanted a bit more action instead of a forced love story. If it wasn't for Saldana i don't know if i would have enjoyed it that much but it's a watchable movie and it's only for audiences that can appreciate it's style and can overcome it's flaws for everyone else? Is a No Watch without a doubt. (8/10)
alexandrepdo i think that there's a lot of reviews over here that says good things about this movie, but i also think that there's one important thing: it's like Robert Rodriguez made a female version of Machete. and it's fu..ng good!! it's a gore movie with surprises, lots of action. Don't let you fool yourself about the people who say that it's like Leon, it's very far from this. but remember, it's very fun.
mickeythecudder As a fan of female action this totally rocked me. Zoes acting and physical abilities were shown in this movie. Shes beautiful and talented. The plot might seem cliché but I don't find cliché always a bad thing.. there was some amateur work from supporting actors but no big deal.. Its a revenge story thats about redemption as well as Zoe said in an interview and you can feel that in the end. Its a love or hate thing and I loved it. Im not saying its a really good movie. It has its flaws but without some of the flaws it loses its point. If they had changed some things it could have been a great film generally, cuz many people hated it. Even though I think its men that hate women in action movies, cuz there are a lot of them I know that would only watch it so they can diss it.. I totally recommend it to female action fans and action fans in general who can watch a woman hold a gun without criticizing every scene. Not a very good movie but I enjoyed it tremendously
brchthethird COLOMBIANA, while a highly entertaining revenge film with a strong female lead, is let down by clichéd storytelling and lack of character development. The story is about Cataleya, a woman whose parents were murdered when she was a child. She then becomes an assassin who sets out to avenge her parents' deaths. As far as the action is concerned, I was pleasantly surprised that Olivier Megaton reined in his tendency to over-shoot and edit. The action sequences were all well put-together and comprehensible, although a final act fight scene in a bathroom kind of dipped back into what I generally don't like about modern action sequences. As far as acting was concerned, nobody gave a bad performance (even the actress who played young Cataleya), but it's a shame that they had such a poor script to work with. The weakest part of this movie, and what really does it in, is the story. The audience is never given a window into who Cataleya is or even care aside from the fact that her parents were murdered in front of her. As an adult, she is emotionally distant and has very little personality. Sure, you could say that it's part of the character but I didn't find it very compelling. There's also the issue of everything in the plot being implausible and convoluted. Again, this is escapist entertainment but a lot of those elements really took me out of the movie. Ultimately, though, I had a decent time. The film is by no means boring, but there are a lot of better ones which tackle similar subject matter, e.g., Luc Besson's Leon, to which this is perhaps too similar.
