Borserie it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
SnoopyStyle Cleanskin is a term referring to terrorists with a clean record and not on intelligence's radar. British secret agent Ewan (Sean Bean) is undercover as a bodyguard to an arms dealer. They are attacked by terrorists who steal a suitcase filled with Semtex explosives. Ewan's superior Charlotte (Charlotte Rampling) tells him to go off books and hunt down the Semtex. Public knowledge of losing the Semtex would be devastating to the Service. The terrorists led by Ash make suicide vests and launch a bombing campaign across London. In flashbacks, Ash is a westernized Muslim pursuing Mary who does recreational drugs. He is recruited by Nabil as he goes down the long path into terrorism.Secret agent Ewan has his moments but his story is not realistic enough to be gritty. It does have a feel of Bourne but is not at that level. That part also has an unconvincing twist in the end. I actually like Ash and Mary's half of the movie more. They are star-crossed lovers and a compelling tragic love affair. Ewan's half is not quite at the same level as other bigger thrillers.
Leofwine_draca CLEANSKIN wants to be a good film. Desperately, in fact. You can feel it in the amount of effort that's gone into what is obviously a low budget production. However, as the story plays out, it becomes increasingly apparent that this is one muddled production with lots of problems and flaws that take the edge off.Take the direction, for instance. As an action thriller, this contains a handful of nicely gruesome fight scenes, but they're muddled due to poor editing which saps enjoyment. At some points you can't see what's going on. Plus, the music is absolutely awful, an incongruous, over-the-top emotive soundtrack that plays loudly when people are walking through corridors and the like. It makes the film feel very cheesy at times. On the plus side, the film features an engaging and well developed villain with strong acting from Abhin Galeya. In fact, he's more developed that the typical gruff hero role, played by Sean Bean. Bean is fine, but his character is largely one-dimensional here. The radicalisation storyline is very interesting although it's an odd choice to dip into a lengthy flashback that runs for half an hour right in the middle of the movie, although it does work, just about. It's certainly better than the sub-plot involving Tuppence Middleton's vacuous, dim character who adds absolutely nothing to the experience other than to pad out the running time a little.
jonathanruano "Clearskin" is an entertaining film about a burnt out secret agent (Sean Bean) tracking down Islamic terrorists who are responsible for a series of bombings in London. This plot interfaces with another more interesting story about how a bright young man Ash (Abhin Galeya) is gradually radicalized by his charismatic mentor, cleric Nabil (Peter Polycarpou). Ash eventually becomes a terrorist leader and masterminds one bombing after the other. Sean Bean does a capable job playing the secret agent, but Abhin Galeya is the actor to watch. Galeya, although not given the best of scripts, is surprisingly successful at depicting Ash as a young man with very troubling ideas and also a strong human dimension. One wonders, when seeing this film, what Galeya is capable of when given a much better script. This movie is not without drawbacks. The story about Ash's radicalization, while interesting, is also overly simplistic. The movie seems to be suggesting that Ash became radicalized because his relationship with Kate (Tuppence Middleton) did not work out. I'm sorry, but that reason does not really make any sense. The other problem with the film was its silly twist at the end, which could have been left out. "Cleanskin" plays much better as a straightforward film about a secret agent doing the often unpleasant job of killing off terrorists.
Johan Dondokambey The story begins intriguingly by going straight into an action sequence. It then flips back and forth between Sean Bean's character and the man who becomes the 'bride' later on. This kind of approach is a redo to some of the nineties era movie which sees less surprises but greater anticipation as the viewers think they have seen all elements for the story to unfold. But in the end, the story is still able to present quite nice twists, although they're quite predictable just as they're going to appear. The action is not really a high class execution here. But this movie depends more on ruthlessness on the part of Sean bean's character. He is indeed the right choice this his role here due to he can still retain the ruthless character I once saw in Patriot Games.
