Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Beanbioca As Good As It Gets
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Curt Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
Shah Hussain Making a "GOOD" comedy movie isn't an easy task.....David Dhawan was going through a bad phase as almost all his previous movies were SMASHED by the critics......but "GONE ARE THE DAYS"....This time he surely delivers a "LAUGH RIOT"Ali Zafar's choice of films proves to be SMART yet again.....He still lacks as an ACTOR but is improving and with the passage of time he is also blending quite well in the magical WORLD of BOLLYWOOD.....And that's really important!!!.....On the whole....His performance is DECENT!!! GREAT GREAT GREAT performances by Divyendu Sharma and Siddharth Narayan!!!......You'll be BUSTING A GUT whenever they are in the frame!!! I simply LOVED them.......Wayyyyyyy to Go!!! *KUDOS*Taapsee Pannu provides more than what one can expect from a DEBUTANT!!! Nice Job!!!PUTTING AN END to a movie has always been a problem for BOLLYWOOD directors...And it seems to be a problem for David DHAWAN as well!!!.....Sajid-Wajid fails as the songs lack the required potential....Some scenes are dragged miserably!!! Apart from these few issues......CHASHME BADDOOR is something that ought not be missed!!! Recommended!!!
Ketan Gupta Chashme Baddoor was one of the disappointing film which had good comic timings and hilarious moments but was saddened by weak direction and terrible script.Sid , Jai and Omi are best buddies cum room-mates. Enters Neha, a chirpy, lovable neighbor who just moved into her uncle's house. Womanizers Jai and Omi try their luck to woo the girl but fails miserably. Surprisingly , she gets attracted to the third room-mate. Jai and Omi scheme up idea to split the love-birds so that they can avenge their failure.Directed by veteran David Dhawan , Chashme Baddoor was one of the movie I was looking forward to see this year but was thoroughly disappointed with loud comedy , bothering songs and terrible screenplay. Direction wise David Dhawan is not in form. He chose to remake a classic but made it a complete waste. It is Divyendu Sharma and Siddarth who makes the movie fun-to-watch at times. They are top-rated and gives their best to keep you entertained.Overall , It can be viewed once if you are looking for some entertainment. Best to avoid it. Average 2.5/5
Shahrukh Khan Watched this last night and enjoyed throughout the whole 180 min. Loved the humor (little nasty but thats OK) and the dialogs too were superb. Nice effort for a remake shows that David Dhawan is still David Dhawan. All the three lead actors well suited to their roles. The female lead was also nice. Mr. Rishi Kapoor was a pleasure to be seen. Not to forget Anupam Kher Ji for his contribution. Like every Bollywood flick this has love, friendship and the mas-ala. A must watch for comic lovers specially with friends. Loved that flashback thing. Got more than what I expected. Hope you all like and enjoy it!!! My rating would be 8 stars.
pratikprasenjit Review : Chasme BaddoorMaking my way from one theater to another in search of tickets landed me up finally at at multiplex. With only a few people standing outside the box office, I was pretty assured to find a ticket for myself. I realized , the movie will only manage to earn from single screens, like every small budget movie does. The movie begins with Omi played by Divyendu Sharma reciting couple of witty but lascivious poetry at the college function which manages to grab some applause from the audience before and behind the screen. Siddharth aka Jai is a wannabe actor and the college audition scene is one of the funniest scenes of the movie. Sid played by Ali Zafar is a physics student who is a nerd and often finds himself mashed up between the sporadic jests and petty fights between the rest two friends. Their lives take a U-turn when the three of them try to woo a girl who comes to stay nearby. With excessive drollery and puns , the movie almost becomes predictable and hence by the end of the first part, things start to push you to boredom. The one liners are almost clichés and rip offs from text messages anagram-ed to give them a fresh feel. But fail at times. Divyendu Sharma certainly saves the movie. Siddharth's acting is disappointing , overshadowed by his drollery which will often remind you of Tushar Kapoor's characters in Comedy movies. The script and screenplay is subpar and at times edges senselessness. This movie does manage to tickle your funny bones but good for only a one time watch with friends. If not for the sake of a good story or sort, at least you can share a good laugh with your friends at the puns and lewd gestures that the characters make on screen. After all, 'har ek friend Kamina hota hai.' 2 / 5 P.S. If you have watched the Classic Chasme Baddoor of the 80's, you'll be disappointed watching this remake.
