IMDBer100575 I decided to watch this movie based on its description. It seemed like an interesting movie. Digging into your past is usually a good thing, so why not? The ambiance of this movie is good enough. Lighting is good, even in dark scenes. Colors really set the mood in this one. Sound was also good, as well as the music to set the mood. The acting was great and quite believable.The storyline was also good. You have a woman who goes home to the location of a horrible car accident that has traumatized her in order to make sense of life. They did a good job letting the audience get to know the main character, as well as other main characters. The flaw in the storyline is there is no explanation for her supernatural ability to see what her sister has seen. I wish they would've explained that in more detail.This movie did not trigger a lot of emotion for me but it was entertaining nonetheless. I felt bad for the main character and especially for her burned up sister. If you have time after an evening of PvP'ing in World of Warcraft, pop in this video and enjoy!!

disdressed12 i had really low expectation going in.mainly because of the words MTV films appearing on the screen was surprised at how well done this psychological suspense thriller was.i found it very atmospheric,and suspenseful.there weren't a lot of cheap scares.it was intelligent,and well written,in my opinion.the ending was unexpected.i was also very impressed with the acting.Nora Zehetner as Christy was very good,but Matthew Settle as John really impressed.basically,my opinion of MTV films went up several notches after this film was over.i don't get the low rating(5.3/10).but that's just my opinion.for me,Beneath is a well deserved 8/10

MovieGuy01 I think that Beneath is a good movie it is about a teenager Christy Wescot who lives in Edgemont, Montana, she loves her beloved sister Vanessa. So on her fourteenth birthday, Christy asks Vanessa to give her a drive her convertible car, but she has a car accident, she hits a rock and is thrown off the seat, but Vanessa gets trapped in the car that suddenly explodes however she manages to survive, but she is disfigured and totally burnt all over. Christy is sent to a psychiatric centre for treatment but not long after, Vanessa has a heart attack and dies. while Vanessa's funeral service is on Christy has a breakdown and says that her sister is still alive in the coffin.She then moves to California but is haunted by nightmares and weird visions. Then six years later the caretaker of the family Joseph dies. When Christy comes back to Edgemont for the funeral and is not made to feel very welcome by John and his mother. Her niece Amy is afraid of things behind the walls of the house and asks her to stay in town for a couple of days. Christy has mysterious blackouts with strange visions and decides that she has to investigate the death of her sister. I found this to be quite a creepy sort of movie, with a very good story.

fedor8 A 25 year-old woman gives her 12 year-old sister the steering wheel of her car - for a drive on a bumpy, country road - and then acts like a total moron, while her underage sis tries to calm her down. This results in - shock! - an accident!!!! That really came as a super-twist, and so early on in the movie. Amazing how well MTV can entertain us.I've seen so very few horror films, thrillers, and dramas start off with a car accident, so you can imagine how startled I was by this amazing turn of events. How did they come up with that? What kind of inventive minds are hired by MTV's movie department these days? On the other hand, there are several reasonable twists toward the end, although the one with the girl stabbing her deformed mother was a bit too silly.Overall, a forgettable but not awful B-movie, with a rather unappealing, flat-chested female in the role of the surviving sister.Find me a movie that starts with a car-ride which DOESN'T end with a road accident.
