Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
kathie-11992 I thought the movie was good. Some very exciting moments. Somewhat funny I would definitely recommend it to a friend
kevinspaceylover OK, I honestly do not understand the 5.6 cumulative rating for this movie! I almost didn't watch it because of how low it was rated, but I have to be honest, I LOVED it! It is for this reason that I am writing this inaugural review. The comedic moments are hilarious, the action is awesome, and the writing, acting, directing, and soundtrack are phenomenal. All-in-all, I'd honestly rate this up with RED and RED 2. If you want to see a good action movie with a comedic twist, this is the film to see! Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock take up a complicated dance with many missteps and surprises along the way. 8/10 for me. Screw the other lousy reviews, take my word for it!
danielgunn Wall to wall Hollywood clichés from start to finish. Cheesy lines from funny man Chris Rock make this a hard film to take seriously.Chris Rock should not have been cast if they were trying to make a serious thriller, and although I like Anthony Hopkins, the guy has got to learn to say no.Say no to scripts that involve running, fighting or anything physical. The fight scene in the car is simply ridiculous, as is seeing Hopkins with a gun or trying to look cool chewing gum.If you want to watch a comedy, don't watch this movie. If you want to watch a thriller, don't watch this movie. If you want to watch a suspenseful, intelligent and cleverly scripted action movie, don't watch it.It's not Bad Company it's just bad!
KineticSeoul I didn't get if this movie is suppose to be a spy thriller or a comedy cause it did a terrible job of mixing both. The plot and direction is stupid, especially when it comes to the dialogue. The movie would have worked if it was spontaneous and cool but that isn't the case. The scenes that aren't suppose to be funny is way more funny than the actual scenes that is suppose to be funny. This movie just proved that Chris Rock should never play a serious character although it's short. When it comes to that part of the movie. This movie is just all over the place and isn't put together in a coherent way. The only funny part in this movie is seeing Chris Rock act like a serious character in the beginning. After that he is just plain annoying must of the way through with constant annoying remarks. There is a line that the villain of this movie says at the end that stands out, especially when this movie came out. But it just feels out of place with the rest of the movie which is unfortunate. The idea for this flick might have worked but the execution was just so darn corny and absurd in a negative way. And is mostly just poorly executed with almost no intelligence and wits. The chemistry between the 2 protagonists is alright but didn't go more in depth with it. It's just a easily forgettable movie that isn't worth a second viewing at all. This one probably tried to be another "Enemy of the State" but failed.3.9/10
