FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
kwiecinskijulia My sister and I decided to have a movie night. We chose to watch Bachelorette. Bad decision. We thought it would be a lighthearted rom-com, but couldn't even make it through the whole movie. From the very beginning of this movie, Rebel Wilson's character is constantly fat shamed and ridiculed by her own "friends". Not only are they unsupportive, but they are deeply offended that their "fat" friend is getting married before them. They humiliate her at her rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party, then ruin her wedding dress. All in all, would not recommend.
Michael Ledo Becky (Rebel Wilson) is getting married to the dismay of her high school friends who believed they would all get married before her. Regan (Kirsten Dunst)is her best friend in the group and is making the arrangements inviting two members of the old gang Gena (Lizzy Caplan) and Katie (Isla Fisher). Gena and Katie haven't matured and through their misdeeds appear to have ruined the wedding as well as their lives. The film is more of a "Bridesmaid" film than the bachelorette party depicted on the cover which was a minor scene. In this film the women use drugs including cocaine. Kudos to Isla Fisher who played perfectly a girl high on coke. Gena is perhaps the biggest tease in the group in her airplane scene. There was a lot of sex talk in the film, much of which was funny. What didn't work was the wedding speech which described the act. WTF was that? Did the script writer die and have a male teen write that nonsense? There were many other scenes which pushed the limits of crudeness. This is for people who like sex comedies.Parental Guide: F-bombs, sex. No nudity. Descriptive sex talk.
sylviaugogrl In short 3 self absorbed, coke head, boxes of rocks basically attempt to throw a Bachelorette party for (Rebel) they claim to be friends with her (but they don't actually care about her at all) The movie is more about the bridesmaids than the bride and they are NOT FUNNY like literally I didn't even laugh one time and I really, really wanted to. Unless you are someone who acts like them, treats people like crap, does drugs, super fake and decides at the end to kind of fix things poorly then maybe you'll find it funny, and I am far from uptight. I almost laugh at everything. I'm just very confused why this cast would sign up to have their name on this it blows my mind. Trust me the idea which has been done to death seems like it could be funny, but they seriously tanked on this one. Two thumbs down!!!!
Sxz King Being male, it might seem different:THIS Hollywood film is just another piece of junk with plenty of derogatory remarks towards the actresses. The worst phrase I heard is "Shut the f**k up, c**t!" during a sex scene.Everything pertains to the conclusion that women are cheap and can be considered as objects instead of people with emotions, feelings, respect and all.I don't mind curses in films, it's fine, understandable when in the context. BUT, purposeful derogatory curses are really bad.General male attitude towards females is what is most disturbing in this film. (only 1 guy had respect for females)ABOUT the acting/comedy:I didn't laugh like.. AT ALL! The film is about how friends try their best to make up for a stupid mistake with a countdown to a wedding. Some drunk & high girls saying meaningless words does not make it a comedy. Kirsten Dunst did a nice job, really appreciable. Lizzy Caplan has proved that she can do much for the big screen as well. Isla Fisher was just the third wheel, without adding much weight to the whole film, and was totally wasted during most of the film. The acting, well, everyone did what the script said to do.I hate this movie. I can't believe it myself.
