BoardChiri Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
martin-07047 This is definitely more of a "lads" show than for the ladies. It's a great "4-mates have a good time" show based around the fact they all play in a cover band together. It's a bit stereotypical in it's treatment of the women, although the 2 event organizers have strong roles, but it's really about the scrapes the guys get into and how deep-down they're good friends and try to do "the right thing". It's a feel-good series for men of a certain age (they're not young and not trying to be). There is some pathos about following your dreams and following convention, but ultimately it has a good heart and is funny in all the right places. Not always believable, but then what TV ever is. It's pure entertainment, light-hearted humour; usually directed inwards at the band themselves, and just a joyful series to watch.
ergine At first glance Wedding Band seems to have it it all. The concept is great, you even get a few laughs and the cover songs of the band are quite entertaining. But something is missing. The completion of the characters fall short. While others work, most do not. Brian Austin Green in surprisingly good at comedy, but he lacks the proper sarcastic presence required for his leading perma-bachelor character. The biggest shortcoming however is comedic timing and delivery. Great jokes are wasted in every other line. The 40 minute running length of each episode seems to be too long for this kind of comedy. Squeeze is down to a fast 25 minutes, hone your timing and you've got a proper show. The series creators Lobis and Moiselle are still at the beginning of their careers and have yet to find their rhythm. Considering their inexperience this show is more of a hit than a miss.
jambalayaval55 This very funny show has great music too. Four guys who might never otherwise be friends are the house band for the stereotypical wedding/event planner - slash - party Nazi. They get to live out their adolescent fantasies: (semi) rock star status, hot and cold running groupies ... or at least the occasional bridesmaid, adventures and a paycheck to boot. The clients and their demands are as ridiculous as their counterparts on the reality bridal/Sweet 16/housewives shows. Some of these antics are actually true in the daily lives of event planners, but mostly it's just good fun (but not for a kiddie audience). Love the guest stars (like James Marsters), the outrageous capers (like grave robbing) and the band's occasion-appropriate costumes (like leiderhosen for Oktoberfest). You don't have to be a 14-year-old nerd boy to like this show! Hope it gets enough audience to stay on the air.
suzcook62 I saw a nice review of this show in Entertainment Magazine and checked it with On Demand. It is funny, trendy and very enjoyable. I have been a Brian Austin Green fan since his days on Knots Landing in the '80s (totally showing my age!); Ha! I was also excited to see Melora Hardin (crazy Jan from The Office) and the rest of the cast is also great. It is getting difficult to find any shows on TV that are not full of blood and gore and this show is simply fun to watch and nobody gets hurt. There also seems to be a nice mix of familiar songs and well as some new, catchy tunes. This is a great show and I am looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully several seasons thereafter.
