While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

I don't ever write reviews, but I feel like I needs some questions answered. Why is there so much noise on the footage? Like the exposure is so bad that the light is blown out completely and still there is noise in the shadow parts? That's just sloppy cinematography honestly. It makes is very hard to watch as a filmmaker! I tend to get distracted by the amount of floating and moving black dots instead of enjoying the show. Use polarizers and proparly expose for the lighting so that they don't have to try and fix noise in post -_- This is only my opinion though. It might easily be just the platform it's shown on or something else, I don't know. This is purely because as a fellow filmmaker I would like to know how that happened :)Besides that the show is a great concept and the scenery is amazing ^_^

I almost hate to write this review, being that my remarks will mere echo the driving "love it or hate it" factor that divides opinions on this show, and that is the presence of Caroline Quentin.
Many others have said it here and just to add my tuppence....she is utterly dreadful.
A shame really, as I am interested in shows that feature unusual architecture that design. As for the homes...some are amazing, some are overrated exercises in ego, some are just ok.
I'm a bit in the middle about Piers...in any other context he's be quite annoying...."The Sultan Of Smug" seems apropos. But one can only sympathize to his plight to some degree, having CQ nattering and squealing and laughing at her own jokes and puns uproariously through each episode. A bit like a pole vaulter who always has to enter competition with a dead corpse strapped to their back.

I just finished the first season and I'm AMAZED about how good was the show. All the houses and how they did explained it! The host were the best for it. The architect was so calm and let you know every single detail of the houses in ways the normal people like me couldn't even think about it, and that's perfect because it helps you to see the building in a completely different way, and it's wonderful. The actress, otherwise, was perfect because she was the one who was showing more how those houses where really good to be used and she was working a lot on the sentimental part from the owners. She was also bringing a lot of joy in the show.

Great show, incredible homes, but what is even better is how the hosts give you two completely different perspectives, one from an architect and one from a regular person that loves art and architecture. Caroline is so funny, just the right addition to the show.
