VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
jay-lees No spoiler needed to steer you clear of this...well, bizarre film. Canada becomes part of the USA. OK. So, I guess I'm unusual, but I expected something about the implications of Canada becoming part of the USA. Silly me. Continue with this movie and you are off to cloud coocoo land. The opening premise has nothing to do with the rest of the film in which you will (trust me) not care a squat for any of the characters. Slings and Arrows and Due South have to be among the most imaginative series ever. But in this case, Paul Gross, I'm so very sorry to say, didn't have a clue about making a coherent film and wasted a lot of talented actors in the process. A real disappointment.
gwynhafar Wow! Talk about gripping and intellectually surprising! This film is superb! I had previously been unable to find a copy of the miniseries that preceded it (H20), but I went on another quest after watching only part of "The Trojan Horse". I will now have the complete set to relish. What a treat this is! I'm not all that fond of action / political thrillers, but I think this one will (or should) become a classic. I am constantly drawn further in and can never see what comes up next. Very well written, directed; acted. Do not miss this film - you won't regret the 3 hours one little bit. You will want more! I agree with poster on the discussion board. If Tom McLaughlin is the bad guy, I say - let's elect him not once but twice and hang on for the ride! I don't see his character as a liar and a cheat but rather as a perhaps flawed hero with noble ideas that I would love to see pushed forward.I loved the speech he made to the reporter - "Citadel on a hill? (We should all consider ourselves) citizens of the world!" meaning let's get serious about holding up our end of the bargain as a member of the global community. I want to see a sequel where he carries out his program! I think what he calls for is doable and would make a huge advance in uplifting civilization for all earth's inhabitants. And don't miss the predecessor, H2O!
wvmcl I wasn't sure where this was headed until the ending. when it turned out that this was all a liberal conspiracy to hand the world over to European wimps and the United Nations. What a load of right-wing crud! Incidentally, the bit about Canada joining the US didn't really have much to do with the plot at all and the idea was never developed. The only point of it seems to be that it made the main character eligible to run for President(but they could have just made him American and dispensed with that). In any event, this was a load of bull and not worth your time. If you wan't to see this kind of thing done well, check out the brilliant BBC political thriller "State of Play."
kainatav TV and movies are the land of make-believe. In the world of television aliens can invade and Ashley Simpson can sing. Only slightly more ridiculous is the idea that Canada joins the U.S. The Trojan Horse is a two part miniseries that hinges on the addition of Canada to the U.S. Don't get me wrong there is much more than that but I won't go into any detail about what happens but let's just say it is improbable at best. The production value is fair considering I saw this on CBC. But overall it is laughable. If you just turn your brain off and enjoy a story then this is a fair miniseries at best. The premise is ridiculous but hey it's just a TV show.
