Synopsis

In 1989 the two most famous plumbers from Brooklyn burst out of the Nintendo game world and onto television screens across America. The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! aired weekday afternoons and brought Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and King Koopa more thrilling adventures as cartoon characters. And if that weren't enough, each episode also contained live-action segments featuring Mario and Luigi running their Brooklyn plumbing shop - all before they were flushed down a drainpipe into the Mushroom World.

Terryfan Super Mario Bros can be forever known as the game that saved the Video Game Industry when it was release in the 80s.Now it has it own TV shows. The Super Mario Bros Super Show is one of the rarest shows to mix live action and animation. The live action stage of the show was pretty funny and it feature cameos from stars of the 1980s. Lou Albano played Mario in the live action scenes as well as voiced Mario in the cartoon, Danny Wells did the same but as Luigi. They were join by Princess Toadstool and Toad in the animation series as they battle the evil King Koopa. What makes the Super Mario Bros Super Show a cool show was the fact in the animation segment each episode look and feel like the video game as well as using music from the game along with the sound effects we all knew and love from the games plus the enemies in the game make appearances in the series as well make it more creative.Watching it again make you feel like a kid again and this show really give you the feel that they wanted it to feel like the Mario bros games and they did it right. The series is full of fun, comedy, action and it just one of those shows you can't help but watch as the song goes You'll be hook on the brothers
CrossBlade Check out Yahooligans under the TV section. They show episodes of not only Zelda, but Mario Brothers, and also great shows like The Littles! The shows are broken into two or three parts, and occasionally you have to watch a short 30 second commercial for a kids snack or toy figures, but other than that it is an awesome way to watch some of those old shows. They have a dozen or so other shows. I think that most are/were released by D.I.C., at least I know that is who The Littles were released under. That too was a great show and would be awesome to see these old cartoons released to DVD someday. Hope this was helpful, so enjoy!
redroselovewaits I remember seeing this show when I was about five years old. Before that I had NO clue who Link and Zelda were (though I had a slight clue who Mario was from his early role in Donkey Kong and because I had just gotten a Super Nintendo around the time I saw this show), but soon enough I learned. In fact the episodes with Link and Zelda are the ones I remember most...especially since I recently found DVD's with episodes from this show. I think this show is actually what started my obsession with the land of Hyrule and the Zelda series of video games. This was back in a time when there were decent cartoons on television. If they only had great shows like this on again...
