Synopsis

A blood-soaked, medieval epic that tells the story of Wilkin Brattle, a 14th century warrior, whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner. Set in northern Wales during a time rife with rebellion and political upheaval, Wilkin must walk a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving a mysterious destiny. Guided by Annora, a mystical healer whose seeming omniscience keeps Wilkin under her sway; manipulated by Milus Corbett, a devious Chamberlain with grand political aspirations; and driven by a deepening connection with the Baroness Lady Love, Wilkin struggles to navigate political, emotional and supernal pitfalls in his quest to understand his greater purpose.

Artivels Undescribable Perfection
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
tomasajdari Good production values, inaccurate and midly realistic plot with fire arrows, extremely educated witch and an extremely educated "token?" black guy (a closeted muslim!!!) an abused child turned into a homosexual via anal rape and much, much more....
Mattias Petersson I see this show as proof of how much the bar has been raised in television over the last ten years. I am sure that this show would have been seen as edgy and cool a decade ago, but today it feels distinctly mediocre. The Bastad Executioner has a few major flaws which mostly emanate from the writing. First of all, it's difficult to really feel any sympathy for any of the characters, they feel very thin. Even though horrible things happen to them, I can't really be made to care. Also, this show has a staggering amount of very brutal violence. In my experience, violence and sex is often used to distract from poor writing, and this is a good example.Acting is fair, although the main character has the charisma of a glass of water. With a strong lead, some of the weaknesses might have been alleviated. Stephen Moyer seems to have fun, but mostly the field is quite weak. I don't usually mind Katey Sagal, but she is awful here with her forced eastern accent. In the end, this show is very forgettable (except perhaps to those sensitive to violence) and honestly you can probably find a dozen shows more worthy of your time right now.
arbantennas This show rocks, i watched it twice as i didn't pay attention at first but the story is solid, the violence is realistic and a plenty, Awesome bad ass characters that i ended up feeling there pain etc. People have rated this far to harshly. Season 2 has been cancelled which is bullshit. Watch it as it finishes of nicely to end it before it reached it's potential. What a shame If u like this and want something similar but way bigger in every way, give Da Vinci's Demons a look see with 3 seasons ending another great show. Back to the Bastard Executioner please do not listen to the haters as this show is awesome & could have been massive-er Only downfall was besides Katie Segals bum there is pretty much no nudity which we love in this kind of a show, ( like Spartacus - Game of Thrones etc ) we like some rude bits to go with our violence, well i do...Anyway i say bring this show back ...
sashka101-902-282708 Even if you do not know history of Wales or England, this series can offer you an insight into everyday struggle and life what it must have been in the 14th Century! Excellent actor portrayals, played with utmost heart. The lengths this production has gone through to make every detail look authentic to people like me, who sometimes notice minute details, that sometimes make movies or TV shows just loose that something, when you notice items out of place or continuation lacking, well this show takes my high marks for paying attention to even smallest details, that made watching so much more enjoyable! Add mythology woven in, which grips and makes you wonder, what if?...and you have an excellent experience of being drawn into a world of knights, barons, earls and simple folk! Love and passion is there too! Great show for the lovers of intrigue and storytelling!
