The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
UNIT875
I can remember the movie well. I was 11 Yrs old and knew then I wanted to be a Virginia State Trooper. I retired as a Master Trooper in 1996 after 30 years service.I never drove a Ford police car, had some real fast 440 Plymouths. Can't beat the old movies. Would love to see this one again.

I was a little kid when this was on. I thought Rod was the greatest. Didnt he use to pull a trailer with a horse. Pull the old ford over and take off on horseback too. I cant believe it was on just one year. so much for tv greatness. But those early action tv shows were pretty cool. later
TC-4
I liked this show because I was a teenager just getting my license and I liked Rod's 1956 Ford V-8. He was a very determined detective and always got his man with the use of his unmarked police car.
