The twins, Tim and Tom witness a car accident and videotape it thinking it is funny to put sound effects as well however, Sophie doesn't find it funny since she lost her dad in the accident that put her in the wheelchair.

Ruth's mum makes her go on a diet with her because she thinks she is gaining weight. Little does she know that she's pregnant. Ruth however breaks the diet by eating food from her friends.

With Anna still gravely ill in hospital an election is held to replace her as Head of Form. Both Sophie and Ruth put themselves forward as candidates - setting up the two for an interesting battle.

It is clear that the twins depend too much on each other so Mr Long proposes a test. They must each make a video without the help of the other.

Kurt's mother returns home after a seven-year absence and the boy is transformed. The sullen face is gone and a smile has replaced it. No one can believe the change - especially Ruth when Kurt invites her out.

Led by Sophie, the class stages a sit-in. Everyone is prepared to take part - except Ross, he has an important soccer match.

The class heads into the bush for the school camp. No one is very keen apart from Ruth and Kurt who see it as a chance to sneak off together and Mr Long who will be able to spend time with Miss Petersen.

EP26 Cut Oct 12, 2002

The big day is looming and there are wedding jitters for Mr Long and Miss Petersen. When the kids find out that Miss Petersen has landed a job in Greenland they decide to stop the wedding.

Synopsis

Short Cuts was an Australian children's television series that first screened on the Seven Network in 2001. The 26-episode series was aimed at teenagers. It was financed by the Australian Film Finance Corporation and Burberry Productions. The series was subsequently repeated on the youth-oriented network ABC3 in March and April 2011.

Stometer Save your money for something good and enjoyable
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
kimirox I absolutely love this show! I only discovered it this week because 7 put it on at 9.30am and next week its not even showing anymore! It's such a pity because this show has been completely underrated! It has an excellent cast and a great script. Its better then most shows with huge budgets. Hopefully channel 7 will come to their senses and put this show on again because its such a waste Plus I <3 Alex Cappelli!! I give this show 9/10 its really good and if it comes back on I recommend it~!
Kitty_fortay I haven't seen it all Because Disney decided to show it at 1am in the morning while i'm sleeping, and then when i returned to school i discovered they showed the season final on Saturday in the morning, which i think killed me. But otherwise this TV show did not get enough credit, it had an absolutely fabulous cast and well i loved the short videos they showed inbetween it, if you can take the time to see it, see. for me i'm hoping they realize it on DVD so i don't have to stay up endless hours just waiting for it to begin, but other wise this is a good show and worth a look at i would personally rate it 7/10
jasjgm "Short Cuts" is one of the wittier, pop teen shows shown on television. The series focuses mainly on a media class and the 9 personalities (teenagers) who attend the class. The story is so simple but is yet hip, original, and executed well. It is too bad this Australian series was cut short, and only ran for 1 season. 8/10
Jess Leach it's a shame 7 chooses to delegate this to a 9am Saturday morning slot - it deserves much better. an excellent script combines with an enthusiastic, enthralling and totally winning group of young actors.teen television hasn't been this good for years.
