Reviews

SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

CanadianRonin This is a terrible, terrible, terrible show. It is just terrible, terrible, terrible.
whitefingr I stumbled onto Second Jen randomly, while flipping through channels. I happened to stop at a scene from the fifth episode, where the two main characters were seeing a doctor together. Despite having no context of who these characters were, or what they were doing, I found it charming and funny. I decided to go back to the beginning and watch the whole season. The show has received some acclaim for starring two female Asian characters as the leads of the show. This goes beyond any sort of token diversity, as these two characters are framed by their experience as second generation Canadians (hence the name), as well as being 20-something women. While the latter characterization may not be ground breaking, I did find the way it was presented refreshing. These two characters are very charming and relatable, but without becoming too twee or annoying.Second Jen's greatest strength s its two lead actors, Amanda Joy and Samantha Wan. They have great chemistry together, and trade quips and barbs with ease. While I may not have gotten wrapped up in its plot, I always wanted to see more of Mo and Jen.I hope that Second Jen is renewed, but barring that, I hope to see more of Amanda Joy and Samantha Wan on Canadian television.
jenmaur I started watching this when I was procrastinating for exams and the title caught my attention and now I can't get enough of it. Can't wait for the next season of Second Jen Nate is so cute, I knew he looked familiar I've watched him on the Degrassi but overlooked his character because I wasn't a big fan of his character role. Overall there was a big transformation to where I barely noticed that it was him. Mo is really cute, and I knew that she liked her boss from the beginning (no hindsight bias at all). Jen really captures the display the struggle of being a westerner but keeping hold to her Asian roots. Lewis is just the cool guy I like watching him because he is the "chill" guy who starts fun ideas, and keeps everyone together. Alister kinda reminds me of the guy off IT crowd. Even though he is a bit crazy, crazy is good. Over all the show is very quirky cute. I can see some people not liking it and others who do.
