SoTrumpBelieve Must See Movie...
Steineded How sad is this?
Aubrey Hackett While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Nightwing: The Series" is a five-part mini-series from 2014. It is an American English-language production by Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Le. Shepherd also plays the main character in here, namely the superhero Nightwing, formerly Batman's loyal aide Robin. Nightwing goes rogue when the Joker (apparently) kills Robin's boyfriend Barbara Gordon. But strangely enough, Nightwing's Anger is not directed against the Superclown, but instead against the super-villain Deathstroke. Ant it takes two attempts to beat him. The episodes run between 7-8 minutes (the first two) and 15 minutes (the last one), so the entire thing is about 50 minutes long, but this includes a whole lot of credits too, which means you can easily watch it in one go. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, so it may be possible the story continues at some point. Maybe Batman will also reappear as we see him as a supporting character occasionally in his human form here. I enjoyed episodes one and two, but then the film gets worse in quality and also stays like that until the end, which makes it a watch for me that was not very memorable and also not very realistic. I also think creator Shepherd should have cast somebody else for the title character as he never carried the superhero character convincingly.
tankace Nightwing is a online series which was made by fans and the creators really knew well the characters ,the comic book story lines and what surprised me was the quality of the action ,the costumes and the dept of the characters. The crazy thing is that this mini-series with the shoe-string budget and all five episodes last just short of forty five minutes manage to have cinematic quality like the today superhero television series of Daredevil, Flash, Arrow and Jessica Jones! To the story line of the episodes, we follow Dick Grayson, the original Robin as he becomes Nightwing and makes a name of his own apart from the Dark Knight! His antagonist is Deathstroke and I will tell (write technically) it, he is much better than that from the Arrow, for here the costume is also exactly like that from the comics and animated series and we him in action, boy he is a bad ass through and through ,even Punisher would had a hard time putting him down. In the story we see elements from some of the most famous story lines of the Dark Knight mythology, like A Death in the Family, The Killing Joke (fingers crossed for the film at the end of the month) and even Red Hood. Also the costume of Dick is like it left from the comics in to the screen and it was amazing , for real if the series was put in the television map it would be the Daredevil of DC! I am serious is that good!As I said the series is about 45 minutes long ,with a small budget ,but with so little it manages to be the film about Nightwing everyone ,myself included ,want to see. For real since the cancer that is Batman and Robin we haven't seen Mr. Gryason in the big screen ,someone in the studio I wish to see that series and make this dream a reality for it is a shame to have redeemed the Dark Kinght from that abomination and not the rest of the Bat Family. Nightwing also ,I am certain for that, would be a nice change from the type of Batman we have seen up to now. He is far more funny, quoting and a bit less serious than Batman, logical he is younger than him and wasn't trained by ninjas, so someone can say that if Batman is the Captain America of the Family then Nightwing is Spiderman. And with such acrobatic skills why not? Finally as the Cape Crusader say to him "You are a detective and my son you can find a solution" ,which is true for Grayson is trained from the best and when the time comes the legacy must be continued and he has the skills, experience and balls to do it!! If you are a fan of the Batman Family then you watch it now!!!!
bobsheruncle Well this will be my first review, ever. And so I thought I would put a good word in for this mini-series. A lot of times I'm reading reviews from people that are just bashing the hell out of a good series, for little or no 'good' reason. If you see a series that is fan made, don't expect a Star Wars type production. Take it for what it is supposed to be. Entertainment. I don't judge on the 'quality' of the sets or costumes, as they are based on a comic book world, so they can make them look any way they want. I saw reference to someone 'liking it better than Supergirl'. Well that in itself is a huge compliment to the cast, crew, writers, directors and everyone involved. Supergirl is a Berlanti Productions film, released by Warner Bros. Television. So they would have had a much higher budget, which relates to better sets, locations, cameras, CGI and actors/actresses. Just to name a few things. I personally liked Supergirl better, but for the right reasons. And I wouldn't dare to compare the two.I think the acting was fine. The fight scenes, with the exception of one, were really good. And for the budget they had, the CGI is really awesome. I would definitely like to see more of this. Kudos to all that worked towards or financed this little gem!And BTW, I have been a comic book reader and movie goer for 51 years. I bought my first comic when I was 9, in 1964.My name's Bob, and I support this review. whew....
sathervbc Good attempt. Horrible acting and fight scenes are too drawn out. The actors look a bit soft. They all look like they should be going out to the club. I was also not impressed with Robin's original outfit. It looked a bit plastic, bubble gum and made from the arts and crafts store. Could have been made a little more dark. I respect the fact that this series is made with little funding. I think what made it bad for me again was the over bad acting. The dramatic scenes are strange and unbelievable. I do understand this was a fun project for them and was a great idea. Not bad attempt though for a fan made thing. I did like it way more than the new super girl and a lot More than other fan films out there.
