The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

This is a reality series about small claims cases, headed by Judy Sheindlin. It has been running since 1996 and nearly two thousand episodes have been broadcast.Sheindlin has a dreadful, unprofessional, arrogant attitude. She frequently snaps at the people involved in the cases. She's inpatient and angry - often interrupting them mid-sentence to shout at them in a patronising, sneering way. Some cases are fabricated.

Seriously, I cringe every time I see this show. For starters, her being such a b*tch and totally disrespectful 99% of the time is just too much. No judge I know can talk back like that without some sort of recourse. If this was real court and people are sworn under oath, she should not be saying "I don't believe you, you're lying" all the time. If they are under oath, they shouldn't lie, and if they are, then charge them with perjury or at least contempt of court. This is the worst court-room TV show on air, fake as fake can be and her attitude is beyond annoying. It's just a circus for clowns to watch to be entertained, if even that and nothing more.

I've watched Judge Judy since the beginning, and I've noticed she has become increasingly cranky and unstable, in a bad mood and unreasonably biased toward or against a plaintiff or defendant. I'm now troubled to see signs she has become increasingly irrational, even unbalanced. Time to seek help or maybe even retire...

How in God's name can anyone like this old hag? She makes a complete mockery of any form of a court system. Sure, it's not a real court, but the mindless viewers are brainwashed into thinking this is normal behavior in a court of law.JJ is arrogant, narcissistic, and no REAL court of law should EVER employ someone of her nature. It just astounds me how they continue to get litigants on that show, when they know they will be verbally assaulted and abused. And that's really what it is. It is verbal abuse! Imagine if JJ would do what she does OUTSIDE her "playpen" (as she calls it). She would (should) be arrested for verbal abuse.By the way, I don't think she is half as smart as she thinks she is. Yea, she's got some brains, but her narcissistic mentality makes her think she is so much better and smarter than EVERYONE else on the planet. The world would be a MUCH nicer place without the likes of JJ in it.
