SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
madmat22_de At first: Excitement! A cool franchise, original cast, Tim Kring - what could possibly go wrong?Well.. a lot.Being an avid fan of "Heros", loving it for the consequent comic panel shooting style, really "close to heart" characters, balanced scripting and its refusal to black/white schemes... I really got my hopes up when "Reborn" hit Amazon Prime.Even though the original suffered notably from the strikes of the writers guild from season 3 on - it never got as bad as Reborn is.Cheap CGI, cliché characters, desperate trying to cling onto the remainders of the original feeling by confining whats left of the old cast into their old roles. Adding see-through conspiracy theory background doesn't help the plot and so don't all the beatings, fist & gun fights. Hardly 5 minutes without someone being beaten, strangled or shot at, for no obvious reason. There are no surprises here, nothing that's capturing your imagination and no "George Takei flashing a NCC-1701 license plate"-moments...Rewatch "Heros 1-3" instead and you're better off by far.
myystery-46766 Heroes Reborn.Almost ten years after the first season of the original "Heroes" premiered, Heroes was back with "Heroes Reborn". It became instantly clear that the show's writers had to find a delicate balance between the expectations of fans of the original show and the need to move on in order to tell a fresh and new story.Overall, they did *quite* succeed. I liked their handling of the original characters. It was lovely to see Hiro Nakamura again, this time as a mature "former master of time and space" who ended up having a family. Matt Parkman's turn to the dark side made sense since the character has always been a bit of a opportunist, putting his own safety and that of his family above everything else (as first hinted in "Five Years Gone", the best-rated "Heroes" episode on this very side). Mohinder Soresh got a fitting role, given the limited availability of the actor. The season's central story revolved around Claire Bennett, which wasn't a bad idea but felt a bit unsatisfactory due to the absence of Hayden Panettiere. I felt it would have been beneficial if the other main protagonist of the original series, Peter Petrelli, would have had a role of some kind (even without an actual physical appearance by Milo Ventimiglia). This became especially obvious when Angela Petrelli showed up yet Peter remained unmentioned.Anyway, the season/volume/series had a few quite problems, which became most obvious in early episodes. One main problem was the Carlos storyline, which just didn't pick up speed and slowed down the whole series. Whenever an episode was gaining momentum, it was all destroyed by a cut to the Carlos storyline. Another problem of the early episodes were Luke/Joanne, who jumped back and forth overly artificial and unearned melodrama and one-dimensional villainy. Joanne, especially, was a low point for the series. Another lacking part was, which was extremely disappointing after the original "Heroes", the music. The musical soundtrack was almost completely absent in many episodes, after "Heroes" was known as a series with a memorable score underlying a great majority of an episode. There were lots of scenes in the original "Heroes" that were greatly elevated by the music which would have felt awkward otherwise. In "Heroes Reborn", without the support of the music, a lot of the same scenes did indeed feel extremely awkward, in some parts even amateurish. Music is a key factor for some shows and "Reborn" unwisely abandoned the strong supporting score of its predecessor. All of those problems remained throughout the series, although they got considerably better - starting with the return of Hiro Nakamura and the travel back to the Odessa Summit. There might be some minor logical holes, but "Heroes" was never that much about logic as it was about a an experience, twists and a general spirit of interconnected fates. Objectively, I'd rate "Heroes Reborn" with an 7/10. In light of Quentin'S final speech and some nostalgia with Wendy and Lisa's signature theme for the original "Heroes" and a beautiful final montage, I'll give it a very generous 8/10.Because at the end of the day, despite a certain disappointment and missed chances, I'm still glad we were given "Heroes Reborn". Volume Rating of the "Heroes" Saga:1.) Volume One: Genesis (9,5/10) 2.) Volume Four: Fugitives (8/10) 3.) Volume Two: Generations (7,5/10) 4.) Volume: Heroes Reborn (7/10) 5.) Volume Three: Villains (6,5/10) 6.) Volume Five: Redemption (6/10)
someone else Imagine a time traveler, and he (Hiro Nakamura and Bennett) goes to the past to find out the details of an incident (13th June explosion), but they say "we must hurry because we have only three hours!!!"... a man (Bennett) tries to reach to his daughter whatever it takes, just to see his daughter. (by the way his immortal daughter is dead because of delivery (giving birth). He could get his daughter at last, and he has a chance to see her even though she is dead, but he rather stand by her side and leave there without uncovering the linen, so without seeing if that girl was his daughter or not!!...and imagine a boy who can send things to a place where he just think about. He teleports himself and his girlfriend to Paris (in front of Eiffel Tower) from USA, they want to enjoy the view of Paris on the top of the Eiffel Tower. Instead of teleporting himself and his friend to the Eiffel Tower, he is lining up at the entrance of the Tower. He is upset because he is not allowed to go into the Tower!!!...and so many nonsenses and contradictions that the film is full of..!!
davidjr2008 I am so glad i did not see the teaser trailer for heroes reborn on the Super Bowl , from what I am gathered in the reviews it was way over hyped. I started watching the show 2 weeks after it aired and it started off slow, the writing could of been better. I just finished the series and overall it was good with an inspiring finale. Although they could of just made a 3 hour movie out of the best episodes. I liked the fact that Claire's kids were the main focus of the show , I am curious of who their father is though.. I keep thinking sylar but I'm am not sure. I would defiantly watch a season two which more then likely won't happen , and if it doesn't happen I am pretty satisfied with the ending. Do I still have questions, of course but it did its job. I hope Netflix gets in touch with Tim or vice versa and talks about a season 2. That would be a great place for the show, not having to rely on on air TV ratings it will give the show a solid platform.
