Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
ecshyguy I was hoping this would be good. When I heard this show was about the creation of video games, I was thrilled. When the results came, it wasn't what I expected. The first thing was phone games, not console games. But, I'm fine if a show has that content. I try to be fair with online games in shows. If a show involves the internet, that's fine. The only thing that matters is the execution. What I do like about this show is Kel Mitchell. I like Kel because of his work in All That. Although, he sometimes doesn't work. One example is in Wedding Shower of Doom. I made an IMDb review on that page. You're welcome to check it out. In the first episode, Babe and Kenzie had good chemistry. In later episodes, the balance is more mean- spirited. Some of the plots themselves have quite a lot in common with iCarly plots. The only difference is many of them have a lack of common sense. One example is Wedding Shower of Doom with a similar premise to iDo. Both of them involve somebody the main characters have a connection with getting married. Some episodes don't even connect to making games. The main characters of this show are just like the iCarly cast. Babe is Sam, Kenzie is Carly, Triple G is Freddie, Kel is Spencer, and Hudson is Gibby. I know Kel is Double G, but I prefer to call him Kel. I didn't want to say this show isn't good. I wanted the show to be at least OK but, there were so many issues for me to do so. Since the views are similar to those Harvey Beaks, pulls in, it might not last long. Hopefully, it gets cancelled before Dan recycles content from the later seasons of iCarly. I don't want to be too mean to this show, but I don't recommend it. I'm sorry Dan Schneider.
RyanWinter100 It took a while before I decided to watch this show. I'm not big on video games. So a show about video games was not an exciting thought for me. Nevertheless, I decided to watch it. I was surprised, delightfully surprised. I have subsequently watched every episode. My reaction--it's another brilliant piece of work from Dan Schneider. The key to the show is the superb casting. Similar to HENRY DANGER, another Dan Schneider hit program, which benefits from great casting, Game Shakers has a terrific mix of actors who relate and interact extremely well with each other. The young actors are all special. The girl character "Babe" is a combination of cute and sparky. The boy, Hudson, is obviously handsome, but he also has terrific comic timing--he exudes a sort of joy. But the magic of the show comes from veteran Kel Mitchell. It was a genius move on Mr. Schneider's part to get Kel to play the over-the-top role of "Double G" a big super ego celebrity rap singer. He gets the best out of his young co-stars, he adds multiple levels of comic energy to every scene. The ensemble of the four kid and the three adults makes for a very entertaining show. Ultimately, the show is not about video games, it's about how those seven characters engage their weekly problem and overcome it with a great amount of fun for the viewer.
maxguy2099 The kids are really funny, some jokes are good, it's like watching a live action cartoon and I love cartoons. I discovered this show because a youtuber, I really only watched the first episode because of him, he also disliked the show saying that is just stupid and I agree it is really stupid but sometimes stupid is funny. The only thing that I dislike is the blond kid which is annoying to the extreme but then again everyone in the show is annoying. This is my first review ever in IMDb, and just posted this to balance reviews. Overall I think the show is harmless and not as bad as people say.
skliaj I was curious to check out this show, having grown up with Dan Schneider and marveled at his weird staying power among 12-year-old girls. The idea seemed solid on paper: buddy comedy star Kel Mitchell of yesteryear teams up with fresh faces, then the games they make are released in app form so kids can bleed Nickelodeon 24/7. What could go wrong? Well, pretty much everything. This show is a frantic mess that can't go five minutes without somebody exploding, falling down, screaming at another character, or having an absurdly cartoonish overreaction lest any viewers accidentally get bored. The whole thing is terribly cobbled together, like the producer told the writers, "I want flashy gadgets, white people rapping, cute animals, and sentimentalism with the depth of a kiddie pool. GO!" The characters don't mesh at all, with each one spouting a few lines and then preening awkwardly for the camera. Cue explosion, laugh track, or anything else that covers up the fact that this show can't segue to save its life. Frankly that seems to be the biggest issue, is just a lack of any likable roles. What happened, Dan? iCarly, Kenan & Kel, Drake & Josh...sure, they weren't Masterpiece Theater, but their stars were enjoyable enough that fans wanted to keep up with them. Game Shakers is polluted with one flat, dull, irksome stereotype after another--where's the fun, or the surprise in that, or the desire to not throw the remote at the TV? This was the chance for a fresh start. The iCarly/Victorious/spin-off era is gone, new actors were hired, and this idea just sounded great. Instead it's the same old schtick, yet worse somehow, with another generation of tired gags for kid actors who don't even have the appeal or the comic timing of their predecessors. Granted the tween crowd has more forgiveness for dopey humor than I do, but a character can only fall down so many times before it stops being funny. Incredibly, this show has already reached that limit.
