Synopsis

Farmed and Dangerous is a four-part webisode comedy series from Chipotle Mexican Grill. This series is a satire of "Big Ag" and "Big Food" practices, featuring the fictional megacorporation Animoil feeding cows petropellets, which are made from petroleum directly rather than indirectly, from the corn and soybean that require so much petroleum products to grow (nitrogen fertilizer is made from the nitrogen present in the air and hydrogen present in natural gas from fracking).

Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
Fluentiama Perfect cast and a good story
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
poohsmommy What's really sad about this is that I really didn't know how bad our Industrial Ag Supply chain is. I do now. I researched it after I watched this. I was vaguely aware of GMOs and stuff- but I had no idea how bad it had gotten. Frankly, if I could, I'd never purchase any of my food again- and that's from my own research, not the show. The show is great. I didn't even know it was a spoof until the last couple minutes- then my mouth dropped open and I'm like OMG!!! That actually happened!!! That's a real product! Wow. I am a graduate student- so I do have access to real research papers from real journals. This is all true. I am glad I am a gardener and I'll be expanding that. Grow heirloom varieties. Keep your seeds. Avoid hybrids and anything modified genetically in any way for anything. Expand your varieties and exchange with your neighbors. :)
clearthinkernow This is an extremely cute, amusing show with the interesting premise (based on facts) that big oil now controls all food production in the country. Behind the scenes we are shown how big corporations manipulate and control public opinion. We learn about free-range farming, problems with giving constant antibiotics to livestock, all about corn, GMO, in the misguided mission of food manufacture. Food was never intended (nor should it be) manufactured. Do we really not understand why bacteria is so out of control and can't be stopped to a large degree by the formerly miraculous antibiotics? What is it we don't understand about the obesity epidemic? If I were a teacher, I would require this series to be watched and discussed in all of my classes. The show is genius, playing like a comedy but dishing out important information we should all be aware of. Ray Wise, once again, plays a devilishly delightful bad guy.
gregorgreg31 when i first started watching this show,,i thought it was a decent show but nothing spectacular. then i went back and watched it again, this time paying more attention to it. im impressed with the artistic appeal of how some scenes are filmed and the thought that is put into the visual aspect of it. for lack of better terms, it can be a bit trippy at times. i think its a all around great show and if you watch it, don't just listen to it. watch it with your undivided attention, its way more entertaining that way. it seems i need to more lines to complete this review. oh yeah,,i am confused about only 4 episodes listed on season one. is that all of them? or do we have no idea when the next episode is going to air? i would be a bit disappointed if that was all of the first season, thats for sure
vidmanpk After coming off a House of Cards binge I was hoping Farmed and Dangerous might provide a humorous kick up the binge to sustain my week. Alas, Hulu or Chipotle or someone has decided to share this mildly amusing series on a piecemeal schedule. I'm not sure it has the pull for me to keep checking back for the next chapter. Maybe I'll try to win some food. Netflix seems to have set a new bar for these TV series in releasing the entire season at once. Binge watching seems to be the latest trend to home entertainment. Of course the best way to binge watch is with plenty of nourishment around. For season two I made sure to have plenty of ribs (Not from Freddy's but excellent all the same) along with the usual snacks and beverages. I think Chipotle has missed an excellent marketing opportunity, because truth be known, all I wanted to do after watching F&D part one was go somewhere and get a steak.
