Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Derrick Gibbons An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
zkonedog These first two seasons (or at least selected episodes) of the hit Nickelodeon TV series "Drake and Josh" have their moments, but by and large they do not strike the comedy gold of the latter two seasons. The biggest reason? The acting of Josh Peck. The entire "Drake and Josh" show was likely conceived around the old Laurel and Hardy concept, where the fat, unlucky, flustered guy (Hardy/Josh) is always at odds with the skinny, charmed, yet utterly clueless guy (Laurel/Drake) even though, deep down, they really are best friends. This show just puts that tried and true formula into the high school children scenario. While at times it works like a charm and produces hilarious results, other times it kind of just falls flat (and the "falling flat" incidences are much higher in these first two seasons).I think what happened is that it quickly became apparent that the emotional/physical comedy from Josh Peck was what really powered the show. However, being as "rotund" as he was those first couple of seasons, he was never quite able to capitalize fully on that physical style of comedy that quickly had become his trademark. Basically, the entire backbone of the shows rests on Josh's reaction to Drake's shenanigans, and in these earlier seasons it was just too easy to dismiss him as "the fat kid" (however mean that is). Thus, I would advise viewers to steer-clear of episodes from the first two seasons of "Drake and Josh" and instead invest in seasons three and four, as that is when the show truly becomes hilarious. After the first two seasons of "Drake and Josh" established the show as a hit for the Nickelodeon television network, there was a major change in store when the third season premiered. To the astonishment of most of the show's loyal viewers, Josh Peck was skinny! I'm sure that those fans (and the show's producers as well) were worried that the weight loss would mess with the show's "Laurel and Hardy" vibe (fat guy vs. skinny guy), but in reality the opposite occurred: Josh Peck's physical transformation produced some of the most hilarious half hours of comedy ever put together. From just watching a few episodes of this show, it quickly becomes clear that Josh Peck's character drives each episode. His pet peeves, idiosyncrasies, and overblown-reactions to pretty much everything around him provide the true hilarity of the show. The clueless Drake (Drake Bell) and scheming sister Megan (Miranda Cosgrove) are little more (despite being decent actors) than vehicles to get to another great "Josh reaction". Though this same formula had been in play for the previous two seasons, the "rotund-ness" of Josh prevented him from really putting all the pieces together. I don't know whether it was due to the fact that people didn't take him seriously (only thinking of him as "the fat kid") or because his round body couldn't emote the sort of expressions/gestures necessary, but once he slimmed down everything just clicked. Whereas early-season comedic sequences from Josh might produce a chuckle, those some sequences in the later two seasons will have you on the floor holding your side in laughter! Thus, I would recommend all viewers of this sort of fare (note: If you also enjoy Wizards of Waverly Place on the Disney Channel then this show is probably for you) to skip the first two seasons of "Drake and Josh" and invest in seasons three and four, as that is when the true hilarity ensues.
adonis98-743-186503 Two step brothers one being a nerd and the other a popular, cool, musician. They are very different but end up being the best of brothers. They also have to deal with their younger sister Megan who always makes their life miserable. She gets them in trouble and just scares them. As much as i like Drake Bell in here i honestly believe that Josh Peck brings most of the humor out of this show but also when it comes to dramatic moments he is the one who brings even more life into it although i have to give credit to Miranda Cosgrove as Megan Parker she is one of the creepiest little girls of all time i truly believe that for a kids TV show she was pretty much the boss of them.
bkoganbing From The Brady Bunch to Step By Step blended families and the inherent situations that come from them have always been a good source of material for situation comedies. Nickelodeon network which seeks to rival Disney for teen and preteen audiences came up with this one which ran for three years which is the usual Disney formula.Jonathan Goldstein marries Nancy Sullivan and the show spins around the children each have before the marriage. Goldstein brings Josh Peck who in his teen years was a teen comedian and he's something of a class clown in Drake&Josh. Sullivan has two children, teen heartthrob Drake Bell and young Miranda Cosgrove.Considering how different they are stepbrothers Bell and Peck bonded very well together. The kind of stuff they got into goes all the way back to I Love Lucy. But a lot of the comedy also comes from Peck and Cosgrove. What an evil little girl she was and Peck told her just that on many occasions when he falls for yet another of her schemes. It worked so well that at the conclusion of Drake&Josh she got her own series on Nickelodeon. With Bell singing and playing and Peck's oafish clowning what more could you ask for in a teen comedy. This would have been right at home on the Disney Channel.
XenoFox Sadly, after they gave this show the axe, Nickelodeon went downhill. Ever since Game Shakers (that show gets a 3 out of 10 from me), iCarly, Marvin Marvin, Victorious, Breadwinners, How to Rock, Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures (Not sure if that show is playing anymore) etc. etc. etc. got released, I pretty much gave up on hoping that Nickelodeon will soon release a well written show like Drake & Josh. But, however, let's remember. Nickelodeon is notorious for being cheap and terrible. With terrible sitcom after terrible sitcom after terrible sitcom. In most instances, you can see the paint on most of the backgrounds of the shows. Just looks like they stole it from some elementary school play. This review wasn't really about the show, but to thank this show for being the very last sitcom Nick ever made.
