Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Aubrey Hackett While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Curt Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
courtneybayer At first, it was an ok show. But then, nearly every show was about politics. And if it wasn't about politics, it would have at least 3-5 political jokes. The reason I watch tv is to get away from it.
rebescott I'm a middle-aged white woman who loves this show. It's about a black family dealing with issues of upper middle-class family life. Because the family is black and living in America, of course commentary about race is going to be part of the show. The topics are timely and treated with humor and compassion. I find the show to be funny, sweet, smart and with a message of love and generosity for all people. The show addresses issues that resonate with every person - how we form our self-image, how we struggle to do our best in this crazy world - and is also just super goofy and funny. It's a great family show and I watch it with my daughter and husband all time. Highly recommend it. There is a little language in the show - some words that are border line for kids under 9 years old.
plmims I truly love this show but it's time that Miles Brown (Jack) and Marsai Martin (Diane) have separate bedrooms...it's been time (I'm so old school)!!! The show is great for everyone...it literally teaches explicit black history. The folks are not snooty and so down to earth. The whole cast is very talented. Anthony Anderson is one big teddy bear. Tracee Ellis Ross is so beautiful...inside and out. Of course I have always admired Lawrence Fishburne and Ruby Johnson. Charlie Telphy is a great comedian.
hirelisamarie I seldom ever watch "Blackish" because it promotes racism propaganda. I watched this evening as I was washing dishes and didn't want to miss Mayor..otherwise I would have changed the channel. In tonight's episode Season4 Episode4 Anthony Anderson character refers to his TV son Caucasian girlfriend as "Jungle Fever". Really?! Not acceptable. Are we going to tolerate this?. This television show and others like it written by African Americans (and there are quite a few) that propagate racism against Caucasians should be censored.Quite frankly, I'm tired of it. If the black community wants to continue to teach this to their children I will pray for them, but, I do not want it taught to mine.
