SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Davis P What to expect when you're expecting is a great, fun, and endearing film to enjoy. The cast of actors just enhance the movie, the writing and dialogue are very well done, and they fit the actors so well! The star studded cast includes Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Rebel Wilson, Chris Rock, Wendi Covey, Dennis Quaid, Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, Chace Crawford, and more.... The cast is one of the absolute best things about this movie! They have awesome chemistry and engage well together. Another aspect I loved, is the couples portrayed here are all different, the diversity is refreshing to see. Jennifer and her husband and their plot deals with infertility and adoption, which are both important and personal issues that need to be talked about. Also, you have the one night stand and unplanned pregnancy plot with the younger couple. The different plots didn't feel muddled or weak either, they worked and fit together well, and were entertaining the whole way through. And i would also like to say that Anna Kendrick and Chace Crawford work so well together as a couple, their romance and chemistry is not forced, seems completely natural. The movie has scenes with great comedy and hilariously relatable situations that anyone who has either been pregnant or been with someone going through pregnancy can understand. Bottom line: this is a great movie and I'm sure you will enjoy the hell out of it! 10/10!
jimnadorozny Terrible, do not watch!!! J-lo , well J-lo is in it so there's one strike, Dennis Quiad's son in the movie is a complete retard and he looks older then Dennis Quaid. That dude from Glee has terrible hair and Cameron Diaz , i just don't like her. Its so disjointed that it seems that time is happening in real time like they got to full term in a matter of an hour and a half. The man flock of baby carrige pushers is dumb , even Chris Rock cant save it, just stupid. F-ing stupid, if I could I would give it a -10 out of 10 for a rating but IMDb wont let me so its getting a 1 out of 10 from me. I have never ever seen a pack of dads with babies, maybe they're gay, who knows?
Jackson Booth-Millard I knew this was a film about women and their partners expecting babies, and I knew one or two big names in the cast, I assumed it would be rated low or average, but whatever it would be rated I was willing to try it, from director Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee). Basically set in Atlanta, this film looks into the lives of various characters, specifically dating and married couples who are expecting a baby together, and how they are preparing during the pregnancy and for the due dates. Fitness trainer Jules Baxter (Cameron Diaz) and dance partner Evan Webber (Matthew Morrison) were crowned the winners of TV show Celebrity Dance Factor, but she vomits into their trophy, and hence realises she is pregnant, she tries to continue a regular life, but she constantly argues with Evan, but they make up and have baby daughter Emerson together. Holly (Jennifer Lopez) is unable to conceive children, so she and husband Alex (Love Actually's Rodrigo Santoro) decide to adopt a children from Ethiopa, Holly has Alex hang out with a group of fathers called the "Dude's group", walking in the park and supporting each other, founded by Vic Mac (Chris Rock), Alex is nervous and unprepared, which upsets Holly but they make up and go to Ethiopa and adopt baby boy Kaleb. Breast feeding boutique The Breast Choice owner Wendy Cooper (Elizabeth Banks) has been trying to have a baby with husband Gary (Ben Falcone) for two years, she finally does conceive a baby and confirms with five pregnancy tests, but has a breakdown at a convention because of how she feels during the process, her reaction was filmed and becomes a hit viral video on YouTube, more customers show up at her boutique after. Gary's father Ramsey Cooper (Dennis Quaid), a famous race car driver, announces that he and his young wife Skyler (Brooklyn Decker) are also expecting, she becomes the envy of Wendy during her pregnancy because she seems to cruise the process with no issues, she eventually gives birth to twin daughters whose names are revealed to be "Aia" and "Nia", Wendy meanwhile is must have a cesarean section when giving birth, she loses a lot of blood, but is okay and has baby son Theo. Skyler's cousin Rosie Brennan (Anna Kendrick) meets old high school friend Marco (Chace Crawford), they have sex once together which results in her being pregnant, they are both worried about becoming parents at first, but they come to terms with it and move in together, but one night Rosie is bleeding and is rushed to hospital with Marco, they are devastated to learn she has miscarried, this forces the break up between the couple, but eventually they get back together and decide to take things slow. At different points in the film the various characters meet each other, Gary goes to the weight loss program run by Jules, and Wendy and Skyler have Holly take their photographs. Also starring Joe Manganiello as Davis, Cheryl Cole and The Black Eyed Peas' Taboo. The acting from the ensemble cast is as good as you would expect, the mixture of stories together all individually have their moments, and the how the characters come to terms with and go through the pregnancies is fine, there are one or two points when the jokes do work and make you laugh, it is not the funniest film ever and obviously has a fair amount of sentimentality, but overall it is not a bad romantic comedy drama. Worth watching!
Mary Herrick This movie was exactly what it was titled. "what to expect when you're expecting" really delves into the pregnancy pedantic and shows all the scares and thrills about being pregnant. Miscarriages, risks in giving birth, the troubles and scares of adopting, and the unexpected. most of what could go wrong, did. although I would have liked to see them go into detail on the miscarriage as it causes the most emotional turmoil and often leads to depression. it would have been great if they emphasized on a message instead of a love story.I think Wendy would most likely resemble nearly every women in pregnancy. That whole illusion of pregnancy glow is all an exaggeration. Women don't become more beautiful or glamorous when they get pregnant, the hard reality is women get fat, stretch marks, cankles, an uncontrollable bladder and the worst morning sickness. I think that's why they showed her story line the most. but then, why would they add in Sklyer? A perfect pregnant woman that fits the image of that exact glow? because there are those who do become more beautiful and glamorous, have the most wonderful time during pregnancy and the script writers didn't want to leave that out, because after all it is a show about what to expect when you're expecting.
