raisleygordon "Waist Deep" has the look and feel of an urban crime drama, but it delivers with mild results. The kidnapping, the gang (and gang leader) just aren't on par with most movies of its ilk. One scene that I didn't think worked at all, is when our heroes try to obtain money (from the bank) that "Meat", the gang leader, is demanding. Coco and the bank manager (at least I think he was), are arguing over a check (I don't remember why). This goes on forever and doesn't amount to anything. Because the movie is so mediocre, I really didn't care what happened to whom. There is, however, a moment I did enjoy, which was a car chase, where our hero, O2, is desperately trying to evade the police. If only the rest of the movie were this exciting.** out of ****

Kieran Ventola (keeronv) I just want to say i'm not a critical film reviewer, if i like a film i will rate it 10/10, if i think a film is just OK i will rate it 5/10 if i hate a film i wont bother rate it at all.OK, so to the film waist deep, i was skeptical at first, i thought it looked like a fake gangster film which is kind of is, i.e not set realistically but after 10 minutes of watching i was impressed, and kind of glued to watching it. I really enjoyed this film, as i said i'm not a film reviewer i'm just adding this review to say my piece and to say its worth watching if you have nothing else to watch and want to watch a good movie.It is a good movie, i don't break down movies bit by bit, i could but i don't want to bore people, id rather tell you its a good filmThanks for reading,Peace from the u.k

callanvass Waist Deep is one of the biggest disappointments, i've watched in some time. I usually enjoy Tyrese Gibson, here the whole movie is beneath him. I'm not racist, far from it actually, but this movie wound up grating me like crazy. I enjoy films of this genre, but this film is utterly moronic, with not one believable performance in the movie. I understand the situation O2 was in, but with the stuff he was pulling, to get that money, he was almost resorting to there level!. The dialog is your typical gangster talk. Hearing them all talk that way, almost every 5 minutes ,was giving me a headache. I understand there heritage, but for god's sakes, use some English!. The film laughably tries to give us a shocking moment, by cutting off someone's arm, where it just came off repulsive more then anything else. The film's ending is typically happy with the cheesy music thrown in there for good measure. The problem was, I didn't care what happened to them, I honestly didn't. Waist Deep provides plenty of noise ,plenty of shootouts,but when all was said and done, I was too busy being bored, to really care.Performances. Tyrese Gibson is a competent actor, when given a decent script. Here however, he can't do much with. We are given snippets of his past life, but not enough to really make the character, one we can root for. That's not his fault either, he does adequate, with what he is given. Meagan Good is good looking, but her character is beyond grating. Her chemistry with Tyrese was okay I guess. Larenz Tate is OK as Lucky. He was just another gangster for me. The Game should stick to rapping, plain and simple.Bottom Line. Waist Deep, was a painful experience. I expected much more, and got a lot less then I bargained for. Others may get a kick out of this one, but I personally don't recommend it.3/10

bnally62191 spoilers awful, horrible, el sucko, stupid, the ending sucked, horrible acting, typical, constant, doesn't make sense, i wish tyrese died, the action sucked, why do you need to buy gas to use the bathroom?, how come every person in the film was a gangster including the pre school teacher?, there's no way he would've survived the crash. these are terms that might describe this movie if you watched it. It had potential. Just a little potential but it was all thrown away by the horrendous acting and story. Larenz Tate is the only good one and he ends up dying. It is quite a typical movie, just like cradle 2 the grave. About a "gangster" who loves their kid and the kid gets kidnapped for money, at the end after a few bad jokes and mediocre action, they get the kid back. At the end of this one, Tyrese gets stopped by the cops and decides to pull a Thelma and Louise by driving around sixty five miles an hour into a river. Well I guess he's god or something cause he ends up living somehow, which keep in mind, at that speed is impossible considering how he landed. This film has probably the worst ending I have ever seen in a film and should be outlawed in every single part of the world. The writer should swallow a active grenade and hug the director.
