Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Josephina Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
clock_me First of all I would like to say that because of the reviews from2015 I put off this movie for so long until tonight and I just have to point out that the reviews are wrong I wish this movie was a little longer then 1hour and 42 but it still manages to delver and keep you holding on to your seat the action is well done kinda reminds me of good day to die hard the story is nothing new about a robot woman who starts getting her memory back of everything that happened to her and the company doing everything in there power to get her back one of the complainants wad of the special effects and how they look childish but as i was going through the film there was nothing like that at all another complaint was of how Bruce Willis only did this movie because of a favour he I also heard of how the action was bad but i have seen a lot of worse like hamlet 2017 or attack of the killer doughnuts I think people are just mad because Bruce Willis was only in it for like maybe 10 minutes or they just didn't find this movie realistic if you want a fast pacing good story well acted movie go see this and do not go for the 1 star reviews
brodysparrow Thomas Jane at his finest, superb acting all around, great plot lines, Bruce Willis in one of his FINEST roles, the script is well thought out, and the director did such a great job bringing it all together, it will make you cry your eyeballs out at the end of the movie, much like the movie old yell er, your heart will ache and you will want to see this movie over and over and over again, especially at the holidays when the whole family is gathered around looking for something to do. I am surprised this movie did not get even more that the 5 academy award nominations it did. I am glad Bruce Willis got an Oscar for his role, I wish Thomas Jane would have got an Oscar also, he is such a superb actor!
johmil-18374 The sci-fi idea of this movie is not so bad. A city (Vice) where paying customers can do what ever impulse came into their mind to the residents of Vice, and what would that do to the customers when they return to their homes outside of Vice.In reality this is a psychological issue that psychologist study a lot, in the one corner we have Freuds theory catharsis, a release of intra psychological energy, and then its good to do this release like boxing for example. The other theory is Banduras modeling and then things you do creates a model for you to handle other things in life in a similar way. Studies show that modeling is closer to the truth and thats the conclusion of the movie as well. When Vice people get back in a "real" city they are dangerous like they are in Vice.Another interesting thing this movie handled is what is life? Here they draw the line when we don't have a real longterm memory. Unfortnatly this ideas is not well executed. Its just to many bad action scenes (how many times can you run and avoid bullets). Bad acting mostly in the minor parts like the lead hunter/security officer for Vice and the police captain for example. This movie should have skipped the action parts and tried some sophisticated story instead. I would recommend an other sci-fi with Bruce Willis instead and thats Surrogates, its a great movie cause it also handle interesting philosophical questions but in a much better way than Vice and have a hell of a lot better actors as well.
NavyOrion No, "Vice" is not the worst movie of all time, as some would have you believe. On the other hand, those who gave it ten stars need to see more movies. But while covering very little new ground, it did manage to plod along, and do an average job of it.HERE THERE BE SPOILERS... The biggest touchstone for this film would have to be "Blade Runner;" like that film, "Vice" also explored the concept of the humanity of those who are not quite human. The "artificials" (as they are called in this story) have been placed in an adult amusement park (called "Vice," hence the title) in a concept similar to "Westworld," except that this film's budget apparently would not cover sets that were anything more elaborate than everyday urban. The minds and emotions of these "residents" are quite real, but each day their memories are erased, so that they will not recall the criminal traumas inflicted on them by human visitors; they have no idea that they are living in a fake world, and have been placed in the "Vice" amusement park to be assaulted or murdered by paying guests. Of course, if they were to start RETAINING those memories...A police detective (Thomas Jane as the inevitable "loose cannon" cop) believes that, rather than getting evil intent out of their systems, raping and murdering the residents of Vice only inflames the passions of criminals, who then come back into his city and commit crimes against real humans. He therefore repeatedly ignores the orders of his cliché-ridden captain to stay away from the park, their city's biggest source of revenue.Of course, he teams up with one of the original inventors, played by Bryan Greenberg, whose incredibly wooden performance marks a low point in a movie filled with poor acting. A runaway resident, played by the lovely Ambyr Childers, also takes part in the scheme to take down Vice's founder (Bruce Willis) but finds that her programming will not allow her to shoot him (a minor plot point brazenly stolen directly from "Robocop.") Too bad, because aside from being the stereotypical "corporate bad guy," Willis has almost no role, phoning in a one-dimensional performance that consists almost entirely of frowning at computer monitors and issuing orders; I suspect his "starring" role took up no more than a single day of his schedule.Though not entirely original, the combination of the familiar stories is somewhat intriguing, if marred by mediocre and unimaginative execution: the producers would have done better to explore the philosophical and moral points of the story rather than engaging in an endless parade of chase scenes and disposable security officers. But for what it is, an obvious direct-to-DVD make-work project, "Vice" is a decent enough effort. It could have been better, but it could also have been worse.
