Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Stertzes Fantastic movie for kids and adults, and you don't have to love or know much about soccer to enjoy it. The characters are interesting and the writing is really clever. Plus there's a great moral to the story (several, in fact). The movie covers father-son relationships, bullying, teamwork, doing your best, facing fear, cheating, vanity, rivalry, and a host of other important topics, all in a fun, fast- paced, and witty hour and 45 minutes. Plus, it has foosball! What more could one want?Really, this far exceeded my expectations and there is nothing inappropriate about it - - no bad words, sex, drugs, overly scary scenes, or slow, awkward content. It was a surprisingly enjoyable movie to watch with my 12 year old daughter (who hates sports!). We give it two enthusiastic thumbs up.
leonblackwood Review: OK, I know that this movie has a silly concept, but I really enjoyed it and I liked the funny characters. Its about a table football genius who beats the town bully at a game of table football and later on in life, the bully becomes a big time football player. Flash, the town bully, decides to take over the village, but Amadeo, the table football genius, has other ideas. After the bar with the table football game gets demolished, Amadeo saves the game from being destroyed and the little players in the game come alive, which sounds a bit weird but the movie becomes fun after that. Anyway, to get back his town, Amadeo challenges Flash to a real football match and he sets out to find a team to take on Flash's amazing football team. With the help of his table football team, Amadeo's unprofessional team fight against the football geniuses to save there town and gain respect. The big football match at the end was great and the animation looked brilliant. There's funny jokes throughout the movie, which are very well written, and the love story with Amadeo's long time sweet heart was a good addition to the great storyline. As I hadn't heard about the movie before, my expectations weren't that high, which is why I enjoyed it even more. The only downside was the English voices which were a bit tedious after a while but it's still a very well put together movie. Enjoyable! Round-Up: I'm really surprised that this movie wasn't a major hit, with the amount of people that watch football around the world. There were some decent names supplying there voice to the film, like John Leguizamo and Chazz Palminteri, but the movie still didn't get a big distribution budget, which is a right shame because it deserved it. There are a few innuendo's throughout the movie, which are put there for the football fans and there is a touch of adult humour which made it fun for all ages. Its good to see that the movie made its  money back, even though it didn't get the big Hollywood treatment, but I'm sure that it would have made more with the right people behind it. Anyway, it's definitely worth a watch if your a football fan and if you want a fun movie for the whole family.Budget: $21million Worldwide Gross: $25millionI recommend this movie to people who are into their animation movies about a table football genius who takes on the town bully at a real game of football with a little help from his friends. 6/10
amesmonde A father tells the story of how one small town's survival hinged on a football match and some table-football players. It's a competent CGI animated film by Juan José Campanella which like the Monster in Paris and Book of the Dead has an off beat non mainstream European/Latino feel. The dubbing issues of the U.K version aside (clearly it's not animated to the UK actors voices) it is a fun tale about football and friendship rather than winning; as the toys help their beloved owner tackle his childhood bully (now a rich footballer) who wants to by his town and win the heart of the town sweetheart. With a slow opening it soon picks up speed when the little table-football players magically come to life, it pokes fun at football players in general, some jokes may go over the children's heads and it's a little creepy in places with screaming rats in a dump and a wacky clown. The stereotype toy lead players go from one set up to the next to save a friend and regroup, to the final showdown football match to the beat of Emilio Kauderer's music. Some gags hit the mark, some fall flat, but the underdog tale is entertaining enough as the locals come together to taken on a professional team. This maybe the best computer animated table-football film out there, but it's also probably the only one.
corne-11 I loved this movie... excellent animation... funny story... A great movie for soccer fans. You should not loose the opportunity to watch it. It has excellent quality animation (like Disney / Pixar), but with Latino humor. A lover of Futbolín has a big challenge, and has to do it for real to defend his hometown.
