Boobirt Stylish but barely mediocre overall
Reptileenbu Did you people see the same film I saw?
Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
sassy-14613 The acting is terrible and overly dramatic. Every scene the actors seem to be waiting for each other to say their lines to each other. Not much comes through as genuine in this movie. Even the organizer of the triathlon (Candace's) fight with cancer isn't heart felt or moving. She's got an amped up persona of a comedic tough chick that fails miserably. The movie comes off extremely scripted and I had a hard time being inspired or empathetic to any of the characters. Near the end there's a death, I won't say who for those that haven't seen it yet, but even those scenes lacked real emotion. The movie tries to use music to substitute for real emotion and that came across over done as well. I was honestly more inspired by watching old news clips of Julie moss as the main character was looking for inspiration. I'm not sure how this ended up with a 7.3
danmartins79 This is an absolutely must see for any triathlete or future triathlete. Finally there's a movie about our sport! But its just not a training film, the depth of the characters and the story line is top notch. It will leave you wanting to get outside and swim, bike or run! But it's more than about the sport it's about friendship, what we do for our loved ones and how each of us overcomes adversity. TRI - is a great movie that you will keep coming back to and enjoy over and over again on a rainy day! After a decade away from the sport Tri got me back on the bike and I finished a Half Ironman. If you find yourself glued to the Olympics every four years and care about the human drama of crossing a finish line, you will fall in love with this movie.
Josef Tura-2 This little film packs a surprisingly big emotional punch, but it really succeeds because of the quiet scenes which are exceptionally well-written. The characters talk like real people and the challenges never explode up into lazily written melodramatic struggles between good and evil. Instead the characters deal with the things we all deal with, and that's what lends the writing its power. New writer/director Jai Jamison shows immense natural talent as both a director and a writer and I certainly expect and hope to see more films from this young and promising artist. His work captures all the beauty of a good documentary and mixes it with all the power of fiction to create a movie that I'd never thought that I would have loved... but I did.
salvatoreparrino-86259 Tri is an excellent movie right from the start and keeps you wanting more. It will make you cry and it will make you laugh. It is a serious movie on serious topics but is done in a way to make it entertaining and fun. The characters are easy to fall in love with and relate to. The story is inspiring and makes you want to go follow your dreams. A must see movie of the year. You will leave this movie wanting to watch the sequel. In short this movies leaves you wanting more, to continue to learn more about the characters' lives and story line. I for one is hoping for a sequel to this movie. I would love to follow the characters' lives and see them cope with other aspects of their lives. Again great characters, great story. Loved it. Go see this movie you will love it too. Sal
