missknowit Bull...I am so tired of people thinking and acting like they have a Right to screw their marriage vows. If you're being abused leave. Do Not cheat first then talk about you need to find yourself later. It's Bs. This film teaches our young women how not to handle problems. So Much wrong with this chick. Great she gets help at the end, but I wish People knew cursing doesn't make you strong. If that's where your Confidence lies and where you draw your power you are still weak. Strong would be not screwing around on your husband. Strong is finding Other ways to express yourself that doesn't take away your honor and Intelligence...On another note and as always god is blamed in some form or another. Funny,in her eyes her mom was wrong, then the bible was wrong. Yeah, Her mom should have left, should have taught her the bible says god Will not tolerate ignorance (ex:1 staying in an abusive marriage. 2 Marrying a man who you know good and freaking well was abusive before You freaking got married) and that he has peaceful thoughts of us not Of evil. Fine. Her mom was wrong on some level for setting a terrible Example, but take that arrogance about the bible being wrong somewhere Else. It's not until the end she realizes her behind was the one wrong. I Hate that this trifling female character didn't even apologize to her Mom or rectify in any way her accusation against the bible.Case and point this film advocates arrogance and masks it as confidence And strength. It confuses young people, young women especially and Coerces them to think the only way they can be heard is by finding Another man who will screw around with them, hopefully fall in love With them, then speak for them. Love is great, but this chick was Freaking married!! This film teaches that we can all do what the heck We want and it will all work out. It also teaches the only voice she Had was what??? Loud and belligerent. But they (the writer and Characters) are so deep, confident, and empowered kinda went over their own heads on this one as with so many other films targeted at us by us...At the beginning and end of most black poetry it's always sexual and misguided anti biblical standard undertones. If you don't like the word or don't believe it fine, leave him out of your foolishness, but don't take shots at him and think everybody is going to eat that mess up. Some of our black people are too busy praising ancestors and rebelling against what they call the white man's god to realize the white man nor your ancestors have a thing to do with where you end up when it's all over.Losing the war trying to fight battles not knowing or acknowledging who the real enemy is...Only positive thing I have to say is I loved the fact that she was physically a very beautiful chocolate skinned woman. Too often we are made to believe it's too difficult or controversial to film women of her color/complexion in mainstream Hollywood though it's not mainstream, you clearly see that it's a beautiful thing. She glows.

dymonsatl I truly wish it hadn't ended. It was so invoking and real. I felt like it was a modern day "Love Jones (which happens to be one of my favorite movies... ever!!) The main characters were real life, everyday people. They were people that you know, friends, and family members. The might actually be you. They didn't paint fairy tale images, they gave you raw reality. Some good, some bad, and some ugly.It was such a sexy story line. And I love a story that doesn't give you the ending that you expected. I felt in love at times. When I can feel as the actors feel, that's always indicative to me of a great story. I would love to see more of this movies writers and producers. I guess I am a sucker for poetry, sex, love, hate, fighting, drama, sadness, and truth. Things Never Said will take you on that roller coaster ride that you've missed as a child. Real Housewives of Atlanta, has nothing on this movie. Definitely don't need to wait 13 episodes to get some juice. One thing that I would have liked is a stronger, more intense ending, but it was good either way.

tags_skeewee Love, pain, healing, relationships aren't easy, the actors were great, showed great emotions, I was so rooting for Curtis to get the girl, the poetry was hot, wow, great movie, brings your emotions , tells a wonderful story of how unexpected things can change your life. Seeing the raw emotions in the poetry, how their lives were demonstrated in the poetry was awesome. The character of Ronnie was played well, could see his issues but he just blamed everyone for his problems. Ronnie had broken the marriage when he put his hands on his wife, they both didn't deal with the miscarriage which further drove them apart. The actor who played Curtis is fine as heck, can see how Kalendra fell into temptation. A good movie to watch with the girlfriends and talk about the movie. It would be a fun time discussing the plot.

K. P. This movie was soooooo good it's not even funny. Without spoiling anything, I will say they dare to rip the band-aid off of uncomfortable truths that have been implicated/intimated in the majority of storytelling in films of the past. You get that here and there, but to have the band-aids off of so many layers of systematic problems throughout the entire film- from beginning to end surprisingly- was so different and refreshing. Heck, I didn't know that my spirit sort of needed it. To have these issues, these complications, these lows but also the highs portrayed so well by such strong actors made it so easy to get lost in the story and connecting on some level to each character-- even the really bad one. ;-) The production, in its rawness, was spectacular. The editing was purposeful. Very well done.My goodness. This movie left me breathless and wanting absolutely nothing for I was truly full. A MUST GO SEE! The main criticism that I have for it is that it's not in more theaters. This is a movie that should be shared with a much broader audience. I hope it's picked up and put in more theaters so I can talk about it with more friends and family across the country! lol This could be a hit for sure!
