Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Michael Ledo Made for TV film with an over titillating title. Stella (Jewel Staite) and Owen (Corey Sevier) wake up naked in a motel room, handcuffed to each over with no memory of how they got there or who is the the other person. They get snippets of memory flashbacks as they attempt to figure out what happened to them. We know the ACPI pharmaceutical company doing human experiments is involved. What really made the whole film unbelievable was that a car covered with snow, sitting over night outside in the cold, cranked over on the first attempt. The film was boring and the ending wasn't worth watching it. Dialogue was dry. Guide: No swearing or nudity. Something that passes for TV sex.
Terry Rode II Before I start my review, this was a lifetime movie. So, let that preface the movie itself. Lifetime movies are only so good, in my opinion. But maybe that's because I'm a guy. But with that said, this movie wasn't terrible. I gave it a 4 not only because of the acting and the complete predictability of the movie, but also because the title of the movie has NOTHING to do with the plot. The Wrong Bed? Naked Pursuit? The bed they woke up in was a bed they both consented to be in, they just don't remember how they got there. They are naked for all of 6 minutes of the movie. A better title would of been, "An Unknown Bed: Pursuit of the Truth", or something like that. Overall this was better then most lifetime movies but just as predictable.
Danny Blankenship This is a typical "LMN" movie as the name gives it away "The Wrong Bed:Naked Pursuit" as it's plot is that of a couple who after a sleep study gone wrong undercover a deadly game of cat and mouse that involves government and medical scandal. Stella(Jewel Staite) and Owen(Corey Sevier) finds themselves awake in a hotel room after being together on a night in which they can no longer remember anything. Plus they are handcuffed together in bed with most of their clothes off! Plus Stella also sports a very sexy colored black bra!(which made this movie worth watching)they slowly remember the passion and hot sex they had, then it all comes back to them about the sleep study as a dangerous game is revealed. Overall good suspense drama and sex appeal for a TV movie so check it out!
darkavenger77 Only in a Lifetime movie do you find two dead bodies and not call the police. This movie was highly hyped by the network, with various promos airing frequently. It's not as bad a movie as I had expected due to the hype.A lot of what is shown is via flashback. A couple (Stella and Owen) wake up in a hotel bed handcuffed to each other. They are being chased by the actress that plays Billie the reaper on Supernatural. Her character is Larissa White (the credits are few and far between, and the way they run these movies together almost impossible to read). In the flashbacks, we learn they were making out and the handcuffing was voluntary, although Stella was wearing a magic bra that disappeared after she was handcuffed. They left various articles of clothing in a hallway and the next day they were all still there. As the movie progresses, they piece together where they had been and what they had been doing, and a trip to Owen's sister Bethany's house gets them out of the handcuffs. It turns out they participated in a drug trial for a sleep disorder medication that was offered by evil pharma. Another couple, Allie and Tony, were there as well and with them part of the night. In their recreation of the evening, they find Tony's car and Owen uses the magic antenna to unlock the door. We see Allie and Tony waking up at Tony's home and within a couple of minutes there is someone at the door. Owen and Stella get to Tony's house and find him and Allie dead in the basement. Body count: 2.In one of the flashbacks, we learned they had all been test subjects at evil pharma. They had stolen some files from evil pharma, and in real time we learn one of the evil doctors has a likewise evil wife that is fooling around with his partner, the other doctor.Even though Owen says they should call the police (the idea did come up earlier at the hotel) after finding the bodies, they don't and instead keep investigating. They end up at evil pharma and another chase takes place as they flee the building. They flee to a cabin while Larissa finds out where they went after the hotel. The police are somehow involved as a detective has turned up at evil pharma since two of the test subjects are dead. The evil pharma people are cooperative, but some security footage is missing. After round two of sex at the cabin, Stella has another flashback that shows there are serious problems with evil pharma, both with the drug and evil doctor's wife stealing money. They figure out they were not given the sleep study meds, but instead a drug that caused all of the side effects they had experienced- mood swings, paranoia, drastically impaired impulse control, and memory loss.Evil doctor's wife has it out with her husband and he knocks her out by choking her. He then shows up at Bethany's home packing heat and a syringe. He injects her and tells Owen via pone they have one hour to return the file or he'll gank Bethany, and to not call the police, which Stella now considers a good idea.Owen and Stella go to Bethany's home and are threatened at gunpoint. Evil Dr. Cooper confesses to the entire plot as well as ganking Tony and Allie. He of course violates the shoot don't talk concept for villains. Stella distracts evil doc with the files and Owen fights him and is predictably shot. In a break from Lifetime format, after tripping evil doc, instead of running away and leaving the gun with him, Stella picks up the gun and shoots him. Larissa shows up and it turns out she is not evil, the evil doc switched the drug labels. The police arrive and evil doc is off to the stateville prison while Larissa is off to med school. Owen and Stella are now engaged with Stella getting a new job teaching. This movie is non-traditional for Lifetime in that there is no Lifetime Psycho (LP) involved, just a villain. Stella is clearly the Lifetime Heroine (LH) and true to form she is in jeopardy more than once, to include the final minutes.Real movie score: 6/10 (higher is better). Lifetime movie score: 4/10 (higher is stupider).
