BallWubba Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Cammy Rhodes First of all i'd just like to say this is my first ever review, i bought this movie on DVD a while back and i just loved it, i knew it was a direct to DVD sort of movie and i didn't expect much...but i didn't expect this to become one of my favourite films. The film obviously isn't one of the best action films ever or...one of the best films ever, most will consider it one of the worst but thats their opinion and i respect that. The Marine 2 stars Ted DiBiase Jr who at first i never really payed attention to in the WWE, at the time this was being made he was just 'that other guy in Legacy with Randy Orton' but after i seen this, i seen him in a different light, he was really like-able in this film, the fight scenes he was in were really well done and i could feel and believe every hit and it just had me hooked, the scene in the boiler room especially was just awesome!, I seen 'The Marine' starring John Cena and as a kid who was a huge John Cena fan i loved it, but now that I'm older and have watched all three Marine films, I'm sure many would agree this one is the best of the series, DiBiase has more of the 'Average' look, he isn't really buff like Cena and quite frankly it makes the character seem more like a Marine, DiBiase isn't considered a good actor but for his first acting role he did really well In my opinion, Temuera Morrison was really good as the villain 'Damo' and the supporting cast in the film were...alright, Michael Rooker should have had more screen time though, i wish DiBiase and him had teamed up more in the film, for what this film is worth i'd definitely advise you to watch it when you have nothing to do, fancy watching a movie you haven't seen or just want to switch you're brain off to watch a film...(if that makes sense) the film doesn't take itself to seriously and really its just a popcorn flick, this movie is definitely better than most things these days, out of all the direct to DVD films I have seen, this is probably one of the best Direct to DVD movies ever, I'm Sure some people will be shaking their heads at this review but this is my opinion of the film, i love WWE, i love Ted DiBiase Jr as a wrestler and now...an actor, Roel Riene's directing was good, for a director known mostly for direct to DVD films I wasn't surprised when i seen he was the director, partly why this movie works so well, Im praying for a crossover with John Cena and Ted DiBiase crossing paths in a Marine film In the future though, if you're not a WWE fan you most likely wont like this film, if you are a movie buff you might like this film, if anything to criticise about this film it would be the effects...but they are no where NEAR as bad as a SyFy film, they effects look fake at times but only if you look at them constantly will you see this, some Of the acting makes you cringe but lets face it this film Wasn't made to win any awards for best acting or best...anything but its still believable at times, the dialogue is pretty decent, the scene when Ted's running off and Michael Rooker says "Give em hell Marine" is one of my favourite lines and scene of the film. So if you haven't seen this film, see it, you can only love it or hate it, if you hate WWE then stay away...because it wont make you fall In love with WWE...i think, anyway if you blame WWE studios and say this is their worst well...you clearly haven't seen Knucklehead :)
borisduende This movie doesn't take itself seriously and delivers strong action sequences. Considering you don't pay for it in the theaters and you probably will catch it on TV like me, you have nothing to lose but to enjoy a 90 min of brain relaxation with jungle adrenaline. The Asian island setting is lovely to watch with some breathtaking shots of coastal splendor, including a boat cruising a turquoise blue lagoon. Michael Rooker and Temuera Morrison bring class to the cast, their supporting roles are enjoyable to watch, as always with those two. Maybe it's time for a variation of the late great Ebert rule for Emmet Walsh: "No movie starring Temuera Morrison and/or Michael Rooker can't be altogether bad" I think that's true. I saw it in HD, it was nicely shot, action sequences weren't bad except for some really shaky camera during some fist fights. It's not first class, but satisfying. Million dollar man's son is a bit stiff, but he's snatching those sculls not for a quick Hamlet moment, but to smash them into the wall, so he's forgiven. Good movie to kill time and relax your brain.
BRisBR M2 is an enjoyable, action-packed, suspenseful movie with exciting scenes and vibrant cinematography (the shots of the island resort were wish-I-was-there breath-taking). It does deserve its R-rating as the violence to and from the terrorists can be brutal at times. What I liked most is Ted's acting allows you to truly sympathize with Joe (Ted Dibiase) and how he'd do anything to get his wife back. Joe (Ted) is not an over-the-top, emotional, screaming-maniac Marine hero; he keeps his cool, which is quite refreshing.I hope WWE does more of these action movies, and I look forward to seeing Ted in more of them. M2 went straight to video; yet, it was much better than some of the WWE films that came out in theaters.M2 is a good addition to your movie library. Will be watching this movie again.
edwbur this movie was actually worse than the first one. i gave the first one 1 star this movie deserves no stars. this is a waist of money. Ted dibiase was horrible in this. his acting was horrible and another question to the wwe. why put a wrestler thats not even close to star power in a movie like this. the plot was just boring. Ted dibiase mostly stayed in a safe camp site while his wife was held hostage. yeah he really cares about his wife. and when he did go try and save her the movie was over in 15, 20 minutes. at first i was surprised a sequel to a financially successful film was released direct to DVD. now i see why.i had high expectations for this film then i find out it is a piece of crap. don't see this movie.
