This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

The Ivory Ape (1980) was just another cheesy Sunday Night movie that they used to show on A.B.C. I haven't seen this movie in ages. I remembered watching this movie with my brother and uncle. My brother and I didn't like the ape, But we like Jack Palance. He was a cool and shady hunter who wanted this rare albino ape (a dude in a bad Halloween costume). Some do gooders wanted to save the rare ape. The film was nothing more than a chance for Jack Palance to mug and grimace his way around a bad cast. Typical for these made-for-t.v.-movies. I was back handed by my dear uncle when I made some funny comments about the ugly simian. Not worth seeking out unless you're a die hard Jack Palance during his "hard living" days (he did a lot of it, you can tell by his looks and mannerisms).
