Cleveronix A different way of telling a story
BeSummers Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
Suman Roberson It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Tina Willis Out of a very tired genra, we get a few movies that explore different angles of what a "zombie apocalypse" may produce. There are 4 or 5 relitively good movies that have done this that are some of my favorite movies in this genra. Unfortunately none of them did very well with the box office or the critics . I have to say this one, The Cured,is the better of all of them. Although the same people whining about how this has been done before by one movie named "The Flesh" are probably the same people who rave about the Spidermans, and Batmans and Transformers, (Star Wars etc) movies that are now into parts 7 and 8 and 9. THIS theme has few examples and is still new and fresh, with very few actual full movies representing any thing other than the usual zombie storyline. As for this movie what really stands out is the acting! It is TOP NOTCH! The plot is a little on the slow side especially for people who may be looking for the standard zombie film fare. But for me, I dont mind a slower pace and I was kept interested the entire movie. The choreography and camera use is put to appropriate use with the film showcased in bleak gray cold scenes. The direction and editing well done with cuts during the story of flashbacks that adds to the tension/burn. The human side to any Zombie flick has always fascinated me and I would recommend this one highly to those that are with me on that. For standard zombie violence, blood and gore you will have to look elsewhere. (although there is just enough of that portrayed to satisfy the zombie lover in all of us!)
westsideschl I felt dead after watching this so how do I return from the undead to the living? Dunno, except it seems that the virus turning humans into zombies will never be a dead (or is it undead?) genre in the money making film dead world. Lots of cheap film making "talking heads" camera time w/a very few fake blood on mouths scenes to remind us what is suppose to be going on.
adonis98-743-186503 A disease that turns people into zombies has been cured. The once-infected zombies are discriminated against by society and their own families, which causes social issues to arise. This leads to militant government interference. Despite the great make up and a very good perfomance by Ellen Page 'The Cured' is unfortunately not that special and the fact that is slow is not the main issue the issue is that the storyline wasn't anything special plus it felt like 2 movies into one and that was kind of obvious at times. Has it's moments but fails to deliver. (5/10)
kosmasp An interesting story overall and some neat ideas woven into it. Unfortunately cliche does take over and poor decisions (to say the least) of the main characters make this annoying to borderline unwatchable at times. It's a shame because it does look like you have a good cast, but even they struggle to make their choices seem believable.Ellen Page has some gravitas to what she is doing, but even she falls victim to doing exactly what you predict any (wrong) thing the others are going to do too. By the way a man of the law showing up completely without any backup should really not be a thing anymore. This is beyond insulting to the viewer and ridiculous at best ...
